There were basically two kinds of entry in this anthology: sermonettes I wasn't in the mood to read, and short selections from longer works I'd probably like if I could read the whole book.As it is, though, I find I don't really care for reading "Chapter 4" of this story by such-and-such, followed by a completely different chapter of something else by someone else. The sermonettes probably would have been better as longer explorations, too, backed up with a bit more narrative or maybe I'm just [...]

    2. Overall this was a fantastic read. Getting little glimpses into different parts of Quaker thought and life was great. Some were better than others, but they all had something to give with their writing talents. If you're looking for something that can give you a glimpse into contemporary Quakerism then this book will help you to that end.

    3. This is a compilation of writings by a variety of authors with a variety of writing styles. Each excerpt conveys Quaker values and is illuminating when the reader is trying to understand more about this very unique religion. The readings are pleasant, sometimes serious, sometimes humorous.

    4. I think this would be great for readers already somewhat familiar with the faith, but I was looking for more of an introductory reader, and I'm not sure this quite fit the bill.
