    1 thought on “Elena Undone”

    1. I've seen the movie first, and I liked it (aside from a few elements of it), so I was interested in the book, it was made of, and though it's rare for me to say, but in my opinion it was better as a movie. The book itself could use some more beta reading/editing and there are quite a few repetitive phrases. The elements I wasn't really fond of in the movie (the love guru monologues) were the parts I didn't like in the book either. For me they broke the continuity of the story. From time to time th [...]

    2. Elena Undone is a beautiful, but realistic, true love story. It is about following your heart, and finding your soul mate. Nicole Conn takes you through the consequences, conflict, confusion, and necessary, but painful, actions that must be taken to follow your heart to your soul mate if you aren't already with that person. As the story begins, the main characters are middle aged and haven't found their soul mates. It adds the dimension of questioning and exploring sexuality, and that your soul [...]

    3. I think its a very carefully crafted book that deserves a read, especially if you liked the movie.

    4. Perhaps I've just had enough of romance novels and they all start to blur together. I struggled to find any originality in the story but gave up after a while. One selling point of this book is that it's realistic - very true to human relationships and brutally honest about family structures. The truth is the writing drove me crazy. You can only call an Indian woman "exotic" so many times before I want to scream. Literally every time Peyton is thinking about Elena, the word "exotic" is used. The [...]

    5. I completely devoured this book In relation to the film Elena Undone, the book (as they often are) is a more detailed version of the story between Elena and Peyton. You'll see a little more background particularly between Peyton and her relationship with Margaret prior to meeting Elena, and a little more background on other characters as well. Most importantly the sheer heat of passion between Elena and Peyton is more intensely portrayed throughout the text of the book. In the book, Peyton once [...]

    6. I seriously and whole heartily loved this book First off just from seeing some of the clip's from the movie (which I refused to watch until I read the book) I just knew by the end I would fall in love with Elena which I did but when I closed the book smiling my heart was smiling for Peyton. They way that Nicole Conn expressed the feelings, emotions, the love and yearning took my breath away how the need, that Elena felt was put into words that it seemed to seep through my fingers and into my vei [...]

    7. Ok when I read the first few chapters I got extremely bored I didn't understand the author way of writing it was weird and chaotic 'at least to me' and it had soooo many filler pages and conversation that didn't lead anywhere, it didn't contribute to the story in anyway but after almost half of the book the storyline became really interesting it held raw emotions like the agony of betrayal and the joy of falling in love The characters were aware of the mistake they were getting into but they we [...]

    8. Dont we just love story with happy endings? Even its pretty much the predictable storyline, sacrificing every for true love. Life is tough sometimes, all we need is something that can give us hope, and idealistic dream to dream about. As always the book is better than the movie, with its details and long stretch of dialogues and monologues, it gives the characters more personality, dynamics, all in all more developed. In the part where, Peyton and Elena started having an affair, there was intensi [...]

    9. I watched the movie a few months ago and enjoyed it. I finished the book today and then watched the movie again tonight and got more out of the film because of the background and more in depth knowledge of Elena and Peyton's relationship. The book had a few issues for me - loads of missing commas which messed up the flow for me (one of my quirks) and one instance of Elena's name being used when it should have been Peyton's - but they were pretty easy to overlook. I felt the story dragged in a fe [...]

    10. I saw the movie first and I love it, then I bought the book. The movie for obvious reasons does not contain the full story and that made the book so much interesting to read as you were getting the details. Nicole Conn is such a great writter/director that you keep reading her story as you never want to let the book down. The soulemetry concept is great.

    11. Erotic love story about a pastor's wife who falls in love with a woman and carries out an affair while her orderly home life unravels around her. General story was ok but some characters a bit irritating eg the love doctor Tyler I think he was called. The story ended without clearly tying up what happened to the husband.

    12. Love the storyLoved movie - after reading the book, didn't love the edit. Realize time restraints of film, but too much of story left out. Nicole Conn is a romantic genius. LOVELY stars. Believable!

    13. loved it!! it is very similar to the moviewell it is except the book has a few bits and pieces more and some things were slightly different in plotbut i thoroughly enjoyed ittely a fave!!
