    1. FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE PUBLISHER THROUGH NET GALLEY. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!In my review of the first book in this series, I didn't think it would improve any, and I am sad to say that I was correct in that assessment. I was frankly bored with the story, despite the fact that it set itself up to be similar to the [...]

    2. “Along Wooded Paths” A Big Sky Series by Tricia GoyerA Big Sky Series, Book Two, “Along Wooded Paths” by Tricia Goyer does not disappoint at all. Book One is “Beside Still Waters” and is all about Marianna and her family moving from the plains of Indiana to the mountainous region of Montana. Each book can be read on its own, but to get the true feeling of this book, these books should be read as the series in order. By doing so gives us the true meaning of this complete story.I love [...]

    4. Until I got my hands on the two novels currently in the Big Sky Series by Tricia Goyer, I'll confessI wasn't a huge fan of her work. Now, before you go bashing me on the head because I've lost my marbles, let me be clear. She's a good author, but up until a week ago, her books didn't have that "zing" or "snap-crackle-pop" that I love to experience when reading. And now.we've got a "snap-crackle-pop," a "zippa-de-do-dah," and a "wowza!" all rolled together thanks to her latest offering--Along Woo [...]

    5. Along-Wooded-PathssmgTricia Goyer has quickly become one of my very favorite authors. I recently reviewed the first book in her Big Sky series, Beside Still Waters, which introduced us to Marianna Sommer. I fell in love and couldn't wait for the second book, Along Wooded Paths, to be released.Along Wooded Paths continues the story of Marianna and her family after their move to Montana. We watch as she opens her heart to bits of the Englisch (English) way of life and starts to see that being frie [...]

    6. Title: ALONG WOODED PATHSAuthor: Tricia GoyerPublisher: Broadman & HolmanSeptember 2011ISBN: 978-1-4336-6869-2Genre: Inspirational/Amish RomanceMarianna Sommer has adjusted to life in Montana and she loves it there. She’s settled in, making new friends with both English and Amish, and she has a job with a great boss that she loves. She’s also still struggling with her feelings for Ben—the English man who introduced her to God. Her parents fear that Ben will steal her heart, so without [...]

    7. In this second installment of a sweet yet serious series, Tricia Goyer has hooked me with the bait of a complicated love triangle! Despite the inherent sorrow that comes from the eventual "odd man out," love triangles are addicting to read about because of the heightened tension and the longing to know the end result. That is certainly the case in this series - I'm ready for book 3, Beyond Hope's Valley, so I can finally see who Marianna picks, and why she picks him! From the lovely, peaceful cov [...]

    8. Along Wooded Paths, By: Tricia Goyer This continues the story of Marianna Sommer and Aaron Zook. Marianna contines to work in the store in Montana. She is growing more accustomed to the English. She is amazedat how well the Amish here in there small community get along with the English. They socialize a lot more together than than her old community she grew up in. They is even a prayer group of English and Amish that come together once a week to pray. Marianna still strugles with her feeling for [...]

    9. In the book Along Wooded Paths, Tricia Goyer’s second book in the Big Sky series, we once again join Marianna with her family in Montana. Her heart is still torn between two men and that dilemma is made more intense when her Amish fiance’ shows up.As we struggle along with Marianna as she tries to make a decision between the two men, Ms. Goyer treats us to some lyrical descriptions of the beautiful outdoors.“And as she sat amongst the trees, with bird song filling the air, it was as if God [...]

    10. The second book in the Big Sky Series was just as intriguing as the first. Marianna is enjoying her new-found personal relationship with the God she always believed in but never really knew. Yet, a surprise visit from her male friend back home leaves her in a position of having to make a choice -- the Englischer she met in Montana who taught her to really know her Savior, or the Amish man from back home whom she always believed she'd marry. She must choose between relationship and tradition, ost [...]

    11. Marianna Sommer knew Aaron Zook her whole life. She knew he was the one she would marry - until her family moved from Indiana to Montana. Everything started changing after the move. For one thing, she became friends with Englishers. Back in Indiana, the Amish didn't mingle with the English. In Montana, it was not uncommon to have English friends if one was Amish. Neighbors helped neighbors, regardless of their upbringing.Marianna met an Englisher named Ben Stone. He helped her dad and other Amis [...]

    12. Marianna Sommer has moved with her Amish family from Indiana to Montana, where they have found a much closer cooperation between their fellow Amish and the Englisch whom, in Indiana, they would have mostly avoided. The man Marianna has long planned to marry, Aaron Zook, has stayed in Indiana, building a house for the two of them and waiting for her return when her family can spare her. But in Montana, Marianna has met the Englisch man Ben Stone. Ben has led her to find a deeper relationship with [...]

    13. Along Wooded Paths was the second book in the Big Sky Series and is probably best to be read after reading book 1 although I do think you’d still enjoy it as a stand-alone, just maybe not as much.Marianna is now in Montana and her relationship with God continues to thrive and so does her situation with her family. Things begin to come together for Marianna and I’m excited to read what God is doing in her life. Her boyfriend Aaron from Indiana shows up in Montana and due to an accident ends u [...]

    14. If you have read any Amish fiction, then you know based on the Amish lifestyle and principles that most Amish that stay within their church communities, marry other Amish people. However when one Amish family decides to move to Montana, they find themselves working side by side with Englisch neighbors. It is here that the readers of Tricia Goyer's latest novel, Along Wooded Paths, find themselves at the beginning of this story. This is the second book in the Amish Big Sky series with the first be [...]

    15. Expect my full review October 1, 2011 on Ramblings of an Amateur Writer: wp/pPz8s-1NoI didn’t realize it at the time, but Along Wooded Path was actually the second book in the series. I have to admit, I did feel like I was starting the story in the middle of something. At times I wasn’t quite clear on why the characters were separated in two different states. Eventually, enough details were given throughout the book, that Along Wooded Path acted almost as a standalone novel. In fact, I don [...]

    16. This is the second in the A Big Sky series and is equally as good as the first. Though it could be read alone I would greatly encourage the reader to read the first book: Beside Still Waters, in order to get a full understanding of the characters and their histories and struggles. At the end of the last book I was sure that Marianna would be entering a relationship with Ben Stone. However, this book is the continuing struggle of her heart. With the unexpected arrival of Aaron Zook to her home Ma [...]

    17. Book two picks right up where book one left off. Marianna stayed in Montana with her family instead of returning to Indiana and Aaron like she had planned. She is finding herself drawing closer to God and also questioning some of the beliefs her people believe. She is also drawing closer to Ben an Englischer.Aaron can’t wait any more he needs to find out if Marianna is going to be his. He head to Montana but ends up in a car wreck and breaks his leg. He finds himself at the mercy of Marianna [...]

    18. I can't stop thinking how stunning this novel is! I love it. It doesn't romanticize the Amish people, but instead portrays them with their weaknesses and struggles. I read that Amish people don't favor bonnet fiction much because they are usually portrayed as super holy with hardly any problems. This book certainly doesn't do that. Marianna is in her rumschpringe and is somewhat more "liberal" than the Amish in her hometown. She mixes and befriends her Englisch co-workers and neighbors. She help [...]

    19. i loved this book. How Marrianna faith in God grew when she was growing up all she knew was the amish faith was the only faith that would get you into heaven until she came to montana did she see a different way. She still believe the amish faith, but until her friend Ben who is english explain to her that she can talk to God as a friend and to pray out loud. That sound so foreign to her she could not imagine it. Once she start to read a english bible and pray to God she felt a peace she never f [...]

    20. Having read Beside Still Waters I was excited to be able to read Along Wooded Paths which picks up just where Waters leaves off, but could still be read as a stand alone book, although until some past are brought up you may be a little confused. What I like about Tricia’s writing is that her characters come to life and it doesn’t seem faked or forced when it comes to their dilemmas and choices they must make.Marianna is a very likable character in that we can almost see ourselves in her, suc [...]

    21. Along Wooded Paths continues the story of Marianna Sommer, whom we first met in Beside Still Waters. This is the second book in the new Amish series by Tricia Goyer. Although not necessary, I would highly recommend reading these books in order so that you get all of the background on the Sommer family and why Marianna and her family have moved to Montana.Marianna, who is the namesake of her deceased sisters (Marilyn and Joanna), still lives in the shadow of their deaths which occurred the same n [...]

    22. Along Wooded Paths continues the story of Marianna Sommer and her family after their relocation to the Amish community near Kalispell, Montana.Marianna has delayed her return to Indiana, reluctant to leave her family, the Montana community and the closer relationship with God she has found there. Another factor is her friendship with the Englishcher, Ben. She knows her friendship with him is endangering her heart, but how can she turn her back on such a good friend who introduced her to God?Mean [...]

    23. This book was one of many romance novels I picked up in a book bag from the library. It is book two in a series and while I was able to follow along with the story I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had read book one, "Beside Still Waters", first.I like Tricia Gouer's writing style, the characters are ones that the reader can relate to.It isn't your typical story about Amish life. The characters in this book have real struggles that I'm sure Amish young people do struggle with. The charact [...]

    24. This was a great book! I enjoyed it so much and it helped me understand book one more. Marianna is back in Montana helping her family out after her younger brother's accident. What she has found is that she is loving being back with her family and growing closer to God and to her family. She and Ben are getting very close, which is worrying her, she knows that he can never be Amish and she knows she can never leave. And what of Aaron Zook back in Indiana? Well Aaron isn't in Indiana after all he [...]

    25. It is not often that one has the chance to read two great books in a single day. I honestly wish I could get paid to read. I often approach the sub-genre of Amish fiction within Christian literature, warily. Too often the Amish lifestyle is romanticized with no real questions ever asked of the characters. Many authors paint the characters as quaint, slightly backwards but good people. They may be. However, as a Christian, one cannot leave it at that. Being a Christian means so much more than bei [...]

    26. Along a Wooded Path by Tricia Goyer is the second book in the Big Sky series about Marianna Sommer who moved with her family from Indiana to an Amish community in Montana to start anew. At the end of Beside Still Waters, the previous book, Marianna had decided to stay in Montana and continue enjoying the new depth of her relationship with God, despite her growing feelings for Englischer, Ben. Aaron, the man Marianna left behind in Indiana, decides to head to Montana and determine whether she sti [...]

    27. Marianna Sommer is still in Montana helping her family, at least that's what she says. She is really trying to figure out where she belongs, in Indiana with Aaron Zook or in Montana with Ben. Ben, an Englischer, has led her to believe differently about God but she still plans to stay Amish. Things get even more complicated when Aaron shows up in Montana unexpectedly. Marianna finds out by hearing than an Amish man was in an accident and is hurt in the hospital, his name is Aaron Zook and he's fr [...]

    28. In the sequel to Beside Still Waters Marianna is still confused about her feelings for Ben. With Marianna being Amish and Ben being English a romantic relationship would not be allowed.Aaron has tried to put Marianna out of his mind. He even tried to focus his attention on Naomi for a while. Being unable to forget Marianna he decides to travel to Montana and try and win her heart. After an accident keeps Aaron in Montana and in Marianna's family home for weeks, Marianna becomes even more confused [...]

    29. My Thoughts:Along Wooded Paths, book 2 in the Big Sky Series picks up where Beside Still Waters, book 1 left off. Marianna Sommer left the Amish home and childhood love, Aaron Zook to move with her family to start a new life in a new Amish community in Montana. The new Amish community shares their daily lives with the Englisch that also live and work there. She is pulled between her Amish beliefs a new relationship with God that is unlike any she had ever thought possible. She have also become f [...]

    30. This is not a standard "cookie cutter" Amish fiction love story where the girl spends pages agonizing over whether or not a boy likes her, struggles with whether or not he (or she) is going to run off and become an evil Englischer, then finally chooses the Amish way of life, one another and, supposedly, happily-ever-after. In Along Wooded Paths Marianna, a young Amish girl who has left her Indiana home for the wilds of Montana, lives and works with Englischers and gets to know them as honest, ha [...]
