    1. The second book in the series dives right into the story. There is a bit of an assumption that you have read the first book recently because there isn't much recap. Not necessarily a bad thing, but if there is a space of time or several books between when you read the first and second books, it can create a bit of confusion. The story really centres on Sadie and the Winters. I must admit that I am not a fan of Everett. He is too bossy, temperamental and cold for me. I love Mark though. He's sweet [...]

    2. Get ready for book two in the Survivors Series! Did you love book one? Expect to be wowed again by Point of Origin by Amanda Havard and her brilliantly creative talent as we are taken on a ride of discovery, truths, lies, misdirections, revelations and, of course, more questions. As Sadie continues on her quest for knowledge of her people’s past, she is still contemplating trying to find a way to end her long life, all in the name of research, of course. Yet she needs to get to the origins of h [...]

    3. Holy cow! Amanda Havard has done it again, and this time Book 2 is better than the first!! I love these characters (especially Everett!!), and am in a need-to-know more frenzy now. The Survivors: Point of Origin is smart writing that takes you on a journey filled with unexpected twists and turns. I went into it with about a million theories of where I thought the story was headed. I ended up being wrong about most of them! Amanda Havard takes you through history and mythology and the supernatura [...]

    4. Point of Origin was an excellent follow-up to The Survivors! (To read my review for the first book, please click here.) In fact, it was a better book than The Survivors and definitely does not suffer from Second Book Syndrome. I was right in predicting more character growth, intense action and confrontations, and a deeper romance in Point of Origin. There was also a lot of unpredictability in this half of the story, which I loved! I hate figuring out what will happen and I love surprises. I was [...]

    5. 3.5 starsThinking I'd get many of the questions I had after finishing The Survivors answered, I picked this book immediately after finishing it and was surprising thrown further into Amanda's incredibly intriguing paranormal world. Amanda doesn't tread lightly with this sequel. She throws in more twists, uncovers more secrets and introduces readers to a few new characters who end up playing some big roles in this series. The romance, the action, and the impending war added uncertainty and a litt [...]

    6. In the first book we meet Sadie who has lived with the other survivors for 150 years (give or take) in their mountain compound. No one leaves, and they do not have any modern technology. Over the years she has snuck out to the closest town, reading any book she can get her hands on. She wants to be a part of the human world, and wants mortality for herself. She decides that it is time to leave when she hears one of the elders, John, plan to have her raped because she is not doing her duty in pro [...]

    7. With an amazing start to this series I eagerly dove right into book 2, and I'm so thrilled that it lived up to my every expectation. It delivered an exciting plot, with all the twists and turns, never giving too much away, but just enough to keep me enthralled. As Sadie continued with her inner turmoil, she faced greater threats than ever before. The war loomed and she still had to put up with the hatred of her own kind. Then there's her continued struggle with her love for a monster. Add to that [...]

    8. 3.5 starsFinally! The Survivors was one of my favorite books of 2011 so i couldn't wait for this one to come out and read it! And i finally did! Yay!Now we all know what's happening, more or less, with the Survivors and Sadie, Amanda Havard goes one step farther into the story. We follow Sadie trying to find a way to kill the Survivors that left, so we are going adventuring. a way's quite of a high class adventure instead of the Indiana Jones thing. The book this time is more concentrated on the [...]

    9. 4.5 starsAmanda Havard has delivered a book so intricately woven and so richly diverse in the mythology she uses with Point of Origin. The Survivors Series is paranormal as its finest, and I absolutely loved this one.Amanda Havard is one heck of a story teller - she manages to draw readers right back into the world of the Survivors within a few pages of Point of Origin. And once she draws you in, she doesn't let you go. The characters in Point of Origin have a trying journey and I felt like I wa [...]

    10. Expect the unexpected. This is one, and maybe the only, thing you should come to expect as you read Point of Origin and continue to follow Sadie on quest of self discovery to find out what she is and if she can become mortal. For 145-year-old Sadie, being forever 21 is not something she had wanted. Will any of what Sadie learns get her any closer to the truth? On Sadie’s quest, Havard takes us on a riveting ride through world mythology showing us how connected we all are on normal and paranormal [...]

    11. Amanda Harvard does it again in the second installment of her fantastic The Survivors series, The Survivors: Point of Origin. This book is even better than the first, with a faster pace and even more mystery to ponder. Its been over a year since a fantasy plot has been able to keep me so enthralled. In Point of Origin we finally get some answers, but they're delivered along side a new helping of questions, and the mystery continues. The book starts by throwing us directly into a new and confusing [...]

    12. I need the third book to come out now! I was given a great chance to receive an ARC copy of Point of Origin, I thank Amanda Havard and Chafie Press for the opportunity to read and give a review on this book! Great second part to the Survivors story! This part of Sadie's life was all about researching to help her family (both the Survivors and her new found family) get a better advantage on the upcoming war. More importantly to find the "point of origin", because the Survivors had to come from so [...]

    13. Amanda Havard is an amazing storyteller who spins a tangled web of secrets and half truths in Point of Origin. Everyone has a secret and Sadie Matthau spends much of Point of Origin trying to figure out what they are. Truly one of the best elements of The Survivors series is Havard’s ability to build an epic puzzle for her fans and then watch as they try and sort through the pieces with Sadie. With an expertise in fashion and cars, Sadie ventures out into the world to discover the secrets behin [...]

    14. Sadie has come home. And to be honest, I cringe inside for her because I understand why she doesn’t want to be there. But I also understand the loyalty that brought her back. She loves her family, even she doesn’t want to be what they are.Even when they hate her.Somehow, they believe that she is responsible for the things have happened to them since she left the family. And all she wants to do is save them.In Point of Origin, Sadie tries to find out where the Survivors came from. Who created t [...]

    15. Point of Origin is the second book in The Survivors Series by Amanda Havard. After reading the first book I was left with dozens of questions, beautiful characters (literally and figuratively), visions of exotic locations, and a new desire to own couture clothing. Diving into the second book was not my plan of attack. The Survivors are facing a potential war, and I wanted answers (and more Everett). I really took my time and soaked up this book. The reader starts out meeting new characters that c [...]

    16. Full Review at: What's Beyond Forks? There is so much that is involved in this series that you really need to read Book 1: The Survivors before starting Point of Origin. Sadie has been living life as a human for so long, it's hard for her to adapt back to the ways of The Survivors. Plus, now she has the Winter's with her, so making sure everyone gets along isn't easy. I'm not sure where her relationship with Everett is going. They say they love each other, but some of the things they do and say d [...]

    17. Dare I say book 2 was better than the first! I actually woke up early to start this book, on a weekend, which just doesn’t happen! Was it worth it? Definitely!Finishing the first book left me with two thoughts.I need more Everett and MORE COLE! Maybe one a little more than the other ;)Book one introduced us to two very interesting and completely unforgettable characters. Each in the running for Sadie's heart. Gotta love a good love triangle! Book two definitely picks up in that department! LOV [...]

    18. Pushing this one to a 3.5 STAR. There is a lot of story here and a lot of people to keep track of. Sadie is going through a lot of discovery. I understand that it isn't easy to change your outlook on life and religion, but I'm not sure if I classify her as troubled, selfish, or a tease? I seriously wanted to smack her when she went back to NY City again. She doesn't deserve anyone's loyalty, yet she has it. Any who, I enjoy the mystery in all of this craziness and the connections to mythology he [...]

    19. I've been waiting for this sequel for quite a while. The first book was free through Kindle so I thought if I don't like it will be okay. I couldn't put it down. Somewhat Twilight likeabout the current day supernatural and how they survive in our world. I know, not really something I usually go for but I was so amused and enthralled that I almost read the book beginning to end without a break. So on to the sequel and it had the same feel. Same epic-like story, same characters. I really like the [...]

    20. For the second book in the series, the adventure is packed into only a couple hundred pages. I'm disturbed by our heroine's constant returns to New York to revisit a secondary relationship at times when her primary relationship is either doing very well or needs time and attention. The revelations are intense page-turners. I'm on a cliff's edge, waiting to get my hands on book 3!

    21. Most of this book seemed useless (especially the unnecessarily long descriptions of cars and clothes). But half way through some historical and interesting things started to happen. It picked up 70% of the way through when they finally went to Salem and looked into the witch trials. The ending left me wanting to read the third book.

    22. I must say that I LOVED Book 2! It blew me away. I was definitely left wanting more which wasn't really the case with Book 1. I know everyone wants more Everett and more Cole, but I want more Mark and Sam. I love Mark more and more every day, and Sam is very intriguing. I feel like there is a lot more than meets the eye with that one still. Of course, I could be very, very wrong.

    23. I read this as an ARC and have not read the first in the series, so it took me awhile to figure out what was going on. I did enjoy the book however, and would like to go back and read the first book now.

    24. The protagonist has a unique voice, to say the least. It is the reason she is interesting because she is unpredictable, but it also makes her unrelatable. Maybe that is the intent. Looking forward to finishing the series to have all the questions answers. I feel I must reserve judgement until then.

    25. I can't get enough! The Survivors has me captivated. It’s such a different premise for a story I enjoyed both books immensely and keenly await the next installment.

    26. She is one of my new favorite authors AND she lives in Nashville. Cool, huh? This series is not complete yet, but they are great books.
