    1. Largely based on studies of ice cores from Greenland, this book describes recent research that shows abrupt climate changes during the Younger Dryas, known as Dansgaard-Oeschger events. Unfortunately, the first half of the book is largely descriptive and uses vague terms such as climate reversal, making it hard to follow. A few temperature charts would have improved. An excellent later chapter reviews research from around the world that also shows the Dansgaard-Oeschger events. Great photos of G [...]

    2. This is the only book on real science that I have ever seen published in a coffee table format, Almost ever other page has beautiful pictures of areas in Greenland. Most of these studies pertain to the Holocene which is the geologic period since the continental ice sheets started to melt ending the last ice age.The [...]

    3. Not only is the a beautiful book, packed with photos of Greenland, but it is also a great reference for the causes and effects of global warming. Thus it is not just about the fate of Greenland, but the world. This is a book all should read whatever side of the fence you are on.

    4. "e in the fate of Greenland there are clues to the fate of the world." (end of 1st chapter, written 2011)Haunting and real and yet it melts on at an increasing pace.
