    1. I listened to the audio version of this novel. It was received at no cost from the narrator via audiobookblast in exchange for an honest review. This is a very good murder mystery that had me entertained from beginning to end. The relationship between Sam and Jordan was complex but I felt that their marriage was certainly something that could be mended with a little understanding and forgiveness. Jordan's background and childhood trauma was riveting and set a great backdrop for Jordan's return to [...]

    2. I reviewed this for TwoLips Reviews, LLC4.5 Kiss Review A Familiar Evil by Anne Patrick is a fabulously written romantic suspense which draws you in from the first page and keeps you glued to the pages until you reach the end. The two main characters, Jordan and Sam, are well developed, likeable characters whose experiences are believable and understandable. While the romance between Jordan and Sam, a separated couple having communication issues, isn’t front and center, it’s a nicely develop [...]

    3. A Familiar Evil by Anne Patrick, published by Rebecca J. Vickery, April 2011, is a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat as a childhood monster continues to haunt and literally stalk Jordan. The characters are well rounded and provide realistic dialogue. The novel will keep you guessing who the monster is until very near the end. And, you'll be surprised when you discover which man from her past he is. Sam is her FBI agent husband who follows her back to her hometown, where's she the [...]

    4. From the first page I could not put this book down. Jordan's character grabbed me and the monster she is trying to fight. She worked at the FBI and decided to quit and go back to her home town in Thorny Creek. She is now the town sheriff. When some bodies show up she wonders if they are all connected to a past crime. Unbeknownst to Jordan, her husband Sam, shows up in town to help her. It did not go over to well when he showed up. Jordan has a hard time getting over the kiss her husband and his [...]

    6. STORY REVIEWIt's a good story. Worth reading. But to be honest it could have been better. It needed more danger or at least sense of danger. And as obsessed as the killer was supposed to appear to be with her it mostly didn't really come across that way. Plus there didn't really feel like there was a connection established as to why she was so special to him. That being said I did think it was good it just had potential to be betterDIO REVIEWI found the narrator to be very good at reading the bo [...]

    7. 'You're out there watching me. I can feel you. What do you want? Why did you come back here?'Jordan Russell had the perfect life until the brutal monster from her childhood resurfaced, opening up scars she thought were healed. With the hope of finally finding closure Jordan leaves her cheating husband, and her career in the FBI, and returns to where her nightmare began. But what awaits her in Thorny Creek will push her to the very edge of sanity and bring her face to face with her abductor.Avail [...]

    8. This is basically cookie-cutter romantic suspense. The mystery is gripping and suspenseful, but the romantic tension is stereotypical and boring. The characters, too, are rather flat and predictable. The best character is the 10 year old boy. Leonor A. Woodworth's performance is quite satisfactory. Her pacing and shaping of the text is good and her voicing of the characters is distinct and appropriate. The story grabbed me and kept me wanting to solve the mystery, but it would have been better wit [...]

    9. ***I received a copy of this book from narrator of the audio in exchange for an honest reviewThis book from start to finish was a do not put down! My kids were crazed that I had my headphones on all the time. The storyline of the history of Jordan's childhood all the way to today kept me riveted. The underlying romance and compassion of Sam made the story believable. And the ending was unexpected!!! The narration was wonderful, each character easily recognized and differentiated from the others. [...]

    10. Scars that you don't see are the hardest to heal .Jordan has moved on but she's come full circle to face the horror she hasn't been able to forget. Her husband is unaware of her past.

    13. Great readDidn't want to put this one down. Fast paced, good character development. Will want to read more from A. Patrick.

    14. WOW. The turns and twists to this thriller were great. I loved the leading lady for her spunk, leadership as well as her horrible past that drives the story.

    15. a 20 year old abduction and rape case turns into a hunt for an evolved serial killer. sad, haunting, revealing, emotional.

    16. I liked the book but it needs proofreading. There were issues with subject/verb agreement and other grammatical errors, as well as a few stray quotation marks.

    17. BRAVO!!!!!What a fantastic story!! I was a little disappointed that there wasn't as much emphasis on God in this story. But it did have a happy ending.
