    1. The main character, Nahla Marks, is a student at Wake Forest University in North Carolina. This fact attracted me because I usually like stories with a southern setting. Nahla has quite a few things about her that make her unusual right out the gate. She is white and was raised by a black family from the midwest. It appears that her parents were victims of an invitro mix-up giving them the shock of their lives in the delivery room. None-the-less, they raised her to become a doctor and take over [...]

    2. I have had this book for a while and finally got around to reading it. I now wish that I would have read it sooner. I would have given it more than five stars if possible, I LOVED it! I was thinking in the beginning this is going to be like two other books that I read. I was so wrong. Nahla's story goes from simple college student trying to make it on her own without her parents help to such an amazing young woman with a supernatural gift or a curse as she sees it. Oh yeah and then there's Gideo [...]

    3. I read this book in two days and didn't want to put it down! The last book series I read was the Twilight series, and I didn't think anyone could top that one. The vampire thing has been so overdone lately it makes me almost want to gag when I hear about another vampire story. THIS was a breath of fresh air for me, and has NOTHING to do with vampires!!!! I haven't had much time to read lately, with a new baby in the house, so when my honey bought me a nookbook and suggested I check out a book th [...]

    4. this book is about 21 year old Nahla Marks who is suddenly seeing "colors" and being thrown into fits of rage and tiredness. she meets gideon, who seems to have an interest in her. they connect right off the bat. (view spoiler)[turns out they're both angels--sorta. nahla has the gift of healing and gideon has the gift of miracles. too bad nahla wants hers gone (hide spoiler)]honestly, the reason i clicked on this book was because of the cover; it just draws the eye. i bought it on kindle because [...]

    5. Entering the world of Nahla is like enjoying a cold drink on a hot summer day. Refreshing and relaxing at the same time. Nahla is just your average college student making a life for herself when she is inexplicably thrown in a situation where she finds that she has an extraordinary gift. This causes her to have a lot of inner turmoil until she accepts her gift. Drawn into the mix is Gideon whom she finds is a kindred spirit in more ways than one.I always find myself drawn into stories of ordinar [...]

    6. Very interesting story development here. I typically don't read fantasy fiction, I actually made a promise to myself not to this year (Trying to buff up on my non fiction these days) , but I ran across this book at: www/facebook/thepublishersbookstore I think that's right, but anyways the blurb sounded interesting enough. I was kind of wary of spending the $3.99 especially breaking a promise to myself, but I can say that I just finished reading the ebook and it was a pretty well spent $3.99. I l [...]

    7. I had no idea what to expect when I received this book as a prize. What a beautiful prize! I found this paranormal romance so beautiful though bitter sweet because of the barriers the main characters have to surmount. The premise of the fantasy part was interesting, the plot kept moving well, the characters were well drawn not just the main characters, and the story unfolded little by little. This is a clean romance though there is some sexual tension. This is part one of a trilogy. I am eager to re [...]

    8. I just won this book and I finish this book in a day. The plot is unique and fresh. The characters are enjoyable and easy to relate to which I think is really important and extremely hard for a writer to do. I really loved Gideon ,why can't I win one of him. (sigh). I will be reading the series. Thank you Patria Dumm-Rowe for wrting the book.

    9. Enjoyed very muchI downloaded this book for two reasons it was free and the book description caught my interest. I will be continuing the trilogy. I really was caught up in the story.

    10. I was immediately drawn into Nahla's story, from her unusual birth and upbringing to the secret she can't seem to keep hidden. Nahla's story, while superbly entertaining and engaging, was not the only one told. I was swept away by the back story of how the Gifts came to be and how they got to where they ended up. I absolutely love to read novels that have multiple layers, as this one does. The author did an amazing job pulling the stories together in a smooth, easy read that keeps you turning pa [...]

    12. Interesting premise, good character development but the work needed more editing - there were some very obvious. spelling and grammatical errors. I also thought that the relationship between the two main characters was a bit too juvenile. I do plan on reading the next one in the series.
