    1. I can't resist Ripley'sI went to the Blackpool incarnation in 1993 during an amagical family Butlins holiday and it immediately seared into my brain as something wildly exotic - that is to say, beyond the obvious exotic esotericism of the collections, but that it was indubitably an American thing. The nature of the arcane in GB seemed so tepid until I dug up Aleister Crowley via John Lennon at about 14. 14 was also the age I got to see a Ripley's in its natural environment - a grotesque, imperma [...]

    2. I've always been a big fan of the Ripley's books, and Strikingly True is another awesome addition to the series. It covers a huge menagerie of wacky facts, true to its name in that some are just utterly unbelievable. Kids and adults alike will love flicking through this book and sharing the stories with friends.

    3. A collectors edition, sure to make a perfect gift for those who love the odd, strange but true.Once I received the book, I was immediately impressed by the holographic red and silver cover of the new Ripley's Believe It or Not! Strikingly True book. As a child I had always had an interest in the strange and unique. I remember purchasing my first Ripley's book and spending hours just reading and staring at the photos, and sometimes being grossed out, but still loving it. It is quite ironic that m [...]

    4. I decided to read this book because i was at the house and had finished all my homework so I decided to read something interesting, fun and wacky! This book completes the "a book written in 2011 or 2012" slot on the bingo board. I liked this slot because it was recent and seemed up to date whereas other books can feel old and boring. My favorite quote from this book is "Second Face - A baby born in China's Hunan Province has two faces." I enjoyed this quote because it explains what the whole boo [...]

    5. In the truly AMAZING book Ripley's Believe it or Not: Strikingly True by Geoff Timbals, this book is non-fiction meaning this is the real deal, I obviously rated this book five stars, this is because the facts are explained using real photos taken from people with very well descriptive writing. Also these facts are from all over the world, not just one place. This book not only teaches me cool facts but it also taught me how people do the tricks they can do. One of the cool facts I found was, " [...]

    6. This is an enjoyable book, though it's appeal can be admittedly narrow, depending upon the reader.Essentially it is a book filled with short stories about things that are documented as having had happened throughout the world. Whether it is the cat that can tell when people are going to die, people who tattoo every inch of their body, feats by people who feel no pain, strange places where people get married, (a funeral parlor is one place), strange occurrences such as lightning strikes to animal [...]

    7. READ THIS BOOK AND YOU WILL LEARN MANY NEW EXCITING THINGS ABOUT THE WORLD!! WARNING!! Some things might be vomit inducing. This is a really unique book because it has from poop shoes to teddy bear made from belly bottom lint. Some of these you might not believe but they are all true and none are fake. There is one part where it talked about inflateable animals and I did not believe it because itn sounded face but then I realized that it was true. If you dare to look at the other bizzar articles [...]
