    1. A biographical work of pirates, especially Captain Henry Morgan, written by a pirate himself who witnessed and participated in their crimes. It gives accounts of the brutality and disregard for human life that they perpetrated on both the Spanish ships and common innocent people in their port towns. Even though the pirates were very democratic and law abiding amongst themselves, they were anything but when it came to their victims. They were lawless thugs, that unfortunately were romanticized an [...]

    3. 3.0 - In the original English translation of 1694, The Buccaneers of America tells the tales of plunder and cruelty of the Pirates. It was amazing how many of the West Indies islands were inhabited by the Spanish between their discovery in 1492 by Columbus and this writing in 1694. Plus the pure hatred between the Spaniards, English, and French. The Buccaneers pillaged and plundered the coastal port cities of Cuba, Jamaica, Hispaniola(Haiti/Dominican Republic), Panama, and Porto Rico. It took th [...]

    4. This is a great read. It was supposedly written by another pirate. It mainly focuses on Sir Henry Morgan. Nice to read this story sounding as from somebody who was there or who talked to the pirates that were there. An astonishing tale.

    5. Loved this book supposedly written by a pirate about the life of other, contemporary, pirates. A little over the top, possibly fiction, but very entertaining to anyone who is interested in Caribbean history or pirates.

    6. Imprescindible crónica, prácticamente de primera mano, de la piratería caribeña en el siglo XVII

    7. Amazing depiction of pirates by a former pirate. A must read for those interested in pirates and their livelihood.
