    1. Detective Boone Drake has just masterminded the most massive sting in Chicago history, bringing down the heads of not only the biggest street gangs in the city but also the old crime syndicate. The story is the biggest in decades, and the Chicago Police Department must protect the key witness at all costs. Despite top-secret plans to transfer the witness ahead of his testimony before the grand jury, an attempt is made on his life. And the person suspected of leaking this information may be one o [...]

    2. Crime, fear, secrets, love, betrayal, and faith all come together in this new thriller by Jerry B. Jenkins. Detective Boone Drake is part of a special task force protecting a former crime boss. He is going to provide the evidence to take down a large crime organization, but while secretly moving Pascual Candelario, someone attempts an assassination. Boone, unfortunately, takes a bullet to the shoulder, setting up a whodunit with lots of pieces and clues. It had to be an inside job, but after Hae [...]

    3. Even better than the first one! And that is something I very rarely say! Great twists and plot turns. Sometimes makes you want to pause and double check that you aren't secretly dirty also!!This was quite a deep and long running conspiracy. The one part that was unbelievable was the shoulder surgery, walking out, doing all he did and how much meds he took (the kinds listed) and was still able to function and go hours and hours without sleep while out running around! I have had 13 major surgeries [...]

    4. Hm. Even less of a fan of this one than I was of part 1. I have no idea what my problem is with these books. A lot of people love them. I just wasn't feeling it. Still seemed a bit fake to me. And I really really really don't like the character of Haeley. I'm sorry. She just rubs me the wrong way and irritates me.

    5. I liked it more than I thought I would. This is my first foray into the Christian Fiction Mystery Genre and I didn't have high hopes, but the story was engaging and, for the most part, the character were interesting (although I found Boone and girlfriend Hailey to be a bit "preachy", which I find offputting). There were some things I rolled my eyes at (superman Boone solving a crime just after getting shot, is a bit of a stretch and I am not on board with consenting adults waiting for marriage t [...]

    6. Crime, secrets, and suspense make up this riveting action-packed thriller. It features Boone Drake, a young up and rising detective with the Chicago PD. The book is a very good Christian thriller. Boone is a noble character and a decent, relatable Christian protagonist. He deals with dirty cops, crime bosses, and other things, but still prays and acts like a Christian growing in his faith. It is a very good thriller with elements of a police procedural. If you like a good thriller that that has [...]

    7. My review:Firstly thanks to Tyndale publishing for being awesome and sending me an ARC of this book; the crime and thriller aspect of this book piqued my interest and I couldn’t wait to read it. Trust, betrayal, framing, it all came with this book and add in a sense of humour to rival the worst situations, you’ll find yourself wanting to unravel this mystery long after it’s finished ;)Analysis of plot:Despite my main interest being YA fiction, I have a special cosy spot for thriller and ac [...]

    8. New York Times best selling author Jerry Jenkins’ latest novel in his Precinct 11 series, The Betrayal, is a sequel to The Brotherhood, the original in the series. It’s also a story about relationships. Lost relationships. Broken relationships. Newly discovered relationships. Immoral relationships. Betrayed relationships. But, ultimately, and most importantly, it’s a non-fiction portrayal of a genuine spiritual relationship between a supreme being and His followers and between those follow [...]

    9. The Betrayal by Jerry B. Jenkins is 37 chapters and an epilogue of police intrigue published by Tyndale House Publishers, copyright 2011. A massive sting involves a higher-up in the Chicago Police Department and the main character Boone is critically wounded and hospitalized in the line of duty as he tries to protect the star witness at all costs. He literally puts his life on the line. Trusting the wrong person could be a fatal mistake, one he can't afford if he's going to survive. How can he k [...]

    10. Much of the world knows author Jerry B. Jenkins because he co-authored the best-selling Left Behind series with Tim LaHaye. However, Jenkins has authored dozens of other books, many of which have also topped sales charts. His newest book is likely to chart a similar course."The Betrayal" is the second book in the Precinct 11 trilogy. The story picks up immediately following the events of the first book in the series, 2010's "The Brotherhood." Hero police officer, Chicago Police Detective Boone D [...]

    11. I’ve always been fascinated by the kind of men and women who decide to become cops. These are the folks who work hard to prevent crime, even to the point of performing daring acts of rescue and self-sacrifice.But once an illegal act occurs, another side of the cop personality comes out. That’s when police officers follow a careful procedure, a series of steps that helps them solve the crime. They fit the aberrations of human behavior into some kind of manageable form, which provides evidence [...]

    12. This was a good book; I read it quickly, in about two days. I read the first book in the series sometime last year, I believe, and it was easy to remember the story as I began this one. I thought the character development was deeper than the plot itself, but for a light, fun read, I definitely enjoyed it. I already have the third book in the series downloaded on my Kindle and I'm looking forward to reading that one as well.

    13. What do you do when the person that you respect and look up to betrays you deeply? Boone Drake is back and this is that he has to deal with. Because of the way that book 1 ended, I don’t want to ruin it by mentioning the ending here. (Go read it!) Drake also has to decide whether he stands by the person he is beginning to love or believe what the people he’s known the longest are telling him. I have to say that I like the second book a lot better than the first. After reading both there is a [...]

    14. This is book 2 in the Precinct 11 series and it is a fantastic book. Jerry B. Jenkins writes books that are full of truth, honesty and plenty of mystery and suspense. I’ve loved all the books I’ve ever read of his. In The Betrayal book 2 took off right where book 1 left off and it was at a very suspenseful moment. One thing I liked about this book was I didn’t know who was betraying whom until close to the end of the book. I thought it could be this person, than I thought it might be someo [...]

    15. He had been shot and almost killed, his girlfriend is being framed and he has no idea which of his co workers he can trust, other than that Boone Drake is having a great month. In Jerry B. Jenkins new detective novel you take an excellent ride with a detective from Chicago’s gang enforcement section of the Chicago Police department. After getting shot Boone Drake needs to find out who arranged for him and his star witness to be killed. He needs to find out why they are trying to frame his gir [...]

    16. “The Betrayal” by Jerry B. Jenkins is a classic example of betrayal in a job many consider a very cut and dried profession, that of law enforcement. Detective Boone Drake is injured following an attack on the key witness prior to his grand jury testimony, in the aftermath of the most massive sting in Chicago history bringing down street gangs and crime syndicates alike, which Drake just masterminded. It soon becomes apparent that Drake’s girlfriend, Haeley, may be responsible for leaking t [...]

    17. The Betrayal has a strong opening and keeps up a brisk pace for the majority of the story. Mildly predictable, Boone Jackson is Chicago Police officer recently wounded in a large sting operation he was responsible for planning. He is recovering from his injuries when he discovers that the girl he's just starting to get to know Haeley and hoping to get to know better has been accused of plotting against him. Boone is sure that she is innocent, but as he works to try to clear her name he has to wo [...]

    18. Fortune gave me a big hug when Jerry Jenkins allowed me to review an advanced copy of The Betrayal. The story is full of love, intrigue, twisting plots, and of course betrayal. Jerry Jenkins does not disappoint his readers who appreciate his excellent writing style which moves the reader along the plot with clarity. In the opening scene Boone is a cop who is shot by throwing himself in front of a key witness. The reason it was so important for this witness to be eliminated sets the stage for the [...]

    20. The Betrayal by Jerry B Jenkins is a the second book of the Precinct 11 novels. I did not know this was a series when I started this one and they can easily be read out of order although I am assuming when I go back to read the first one I will know part of what is going to happen. The story is about the Chicago police department and Detective Boone Drake. Drake was involved in the largest sting in Chicago police history but in the process almost loses his life. The question is who let them know [...]

    21. Review At: I Read, I Think, I ShareReview Date: 12 November 2012Review URL: littlemermybooks/2012/11/the-betrayal-precinct-11-2-by-jerry-bmlSummary:The Betrayal by Jerry B. Jenkins is the second book in the Precinct 11 series. The story picks up from where The Brotherhood ends. I enjoy reading first book The Brotherhood a lot. And I was looking forward on reading this book 2. Honestly, Jerry Jenkins did not disappoint me at all. The 2nd book of this series is full of suspense. The plot was excit [...]

    22. The Betrayal by Jerry B. Jenkins is a well-written sequel to The Brotherhood. In my opinion, this book was even more fast-paced than the first. I'm pretty sure I heard that Jenkins is a "pantser" (as in writing by the seat of your pants) when it comes to plotting. As someone who utilizes outlines, I was impressed by how he tied the various subplots of the two stories together (things were set in motion in the first book that really fit and connected with the second). Jenkins also did a good job [...]

    23. So often when a series starts with a 5-star book, the second book in the series is not quite as good. Especially when read immediately after the completion of book 1, "The Brotherhood". Not so in this series. Book 2 is every bit as good as Book 1. You can almost guess the subject matter of the book. Boone Drake, our police rookie from Book 1, has risen in the ranks and is recovering from his great loss. In this book he is the mastermind behind the most massive sting in Chicago police history. An [...]

    24. Listening to audiobook. I realized I am reading #2 in the series and also have audiobook for #3 but didn't read the first book of the series.I see he writes other reads outside of Christian fiction. He interestingly speaks on being a Christian and how Det. Boone is afraid to pray in front of his police cops but feels an urge to do so. He believes he understands their perspective on religion as a whole. But finds out that Jack's woman is a believer but living in sin and doesn't feel whole. There [...]
