    1. This is the first of Howard Turk's "Shanghai Series," even though this novel takes place totally in Siberia. This is a murder mystery, set during the last days of Alexander Kolchak's Provisional All-Russian Government, one of the last attempts at rolling back the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia. 2. Suspense!I couldn't put this book down. I will definitely read the next in this series. The historical events make this book.

    3. Not worth the time.Plot was too tediously played out. Many settings simply not believable. Too many aspects of long story were irrelevant. My sense was author couldn’t figure out how to end story.
