    1. An interesting book that argues that a social movement's organization plays a major role in whether it is violent or nonviolent. Movements that are cohesive are more likely to employ non-violent tactics, for three reasons: 1) cohesion facilitates mass movements 2) cohesion facilitates discipline (which enables restraint) and 3) cohesion facilitates strategy.
