    1. Little Nelly reads in the big book of knowledge that she is a mouse. Well, she reads that mice can be gray, have big ears, and skinny tails. So, she joins a mice family who welcome her despite her being a rather large mouse. Grandma mouse does some looking on the web and discovers that there are more large mice (elephants) at the zoo and they visit their local zoo. They decide to stay at the zoo so Little Nelly can get enough food, but while there, Micky (a young mouse) reads in the big book of [...]

    2. Silly little book about an elephant who (after reading a description in her Big Book of Knowledge) realizes that she is a mouse, and about the mice who take her in.Average illustrations, but the cute and silly story balances them out. Kids will get a kick out of the "in joke" and I myself chuckled at the moral about pictures. Can definitely see using it for storytime. Elephants, mice, books, friendships Could easily pair with Not Quite Narwhal for a storytime on unusual friends, fitting in, being [...]

    3. Little Nelly reads a description of a mouse in her book and decides that is what she is. She is gray, has big ears and a tail so she must be a mouse right? It says so right there in her book. So she goes to live with the mouse family. They think she is a little big but take her in. Then they decide that she should be with the other "mice" at the zoo. Those "mice" think Nelly is a bit small but she will fit in nicely. I love the illustrations of Nelly and the mice and how the mice repaint the sig [...]

    4. This book draws a mistaken conclusion. Little Nellie reads a big book and decides she is a mouse because she is gray, has big ears, and a skinny tail. She finds a mouse hole and they take her in. This story is great to use when talking about drawing conclusions as well as inferring because you wonder which one of the mice really figures out that Nellie is actually an elephant.

    5. This is a good book about fitting in and about getting the big picture. This would pair well with Gaston by Kelly DiPucchio for a storytime about identity or fitting in groups or how appearance shouldn't matter to make friends.

    6. Cute book about a baby elephant who thinks she's a mouse because of what she read in a book. The kids loved being in on the joke through to book.Good for storytime.

    7. What a cute picture book - the mice are so sweet. I can definitely see this as a great read aloud with the theme of being yourself.

    8. Little Nelly reads a book that convinces her she is a mouse, so she finds a family of mice who take her in despite the enormous size difference.

    9. I was on the fence about this one until the last page. "Which just goes to show why books should ALWAYS have pictures." Brilliant.

    10. Fabulous last line! Very cute book (although the illustrations weren't my favorite I can see how kids would enjoy them).

    11. Very cute, was interesting to see which grade levels of kids were able to understand the twists in this book.

    12. Such a cute story about an elephant who thinks she is a mouse because of something she read in a book love the conclusion "and that is why all books should have pictures"! :-)

    13. I think this is adorable, but my kids at preschool storytime mostly didn't agree--we had to stop this halfway through and switch to a Pigeon book.
