    1 thought on “Room 3”

    1. Kelli Foster is living a regular small-town life as a bartender when she gets abducted one night from the street. She is taken to a cabin in the middle of nowhere and held prisoner in a room with another girl. They are occasionally taken to the mysterious "Room 3" where they are given a drug to make them vividly hallucinate. For some reason, these hallucinations and the puzzles within are very important to the people who kidnapped Kelli. Room 3 is written in a journal format from Kelli's point o [...]

    2. If I had a bumper sticker to describe my philosophy of novels, it would be "Function over Form." The function of a novel is to tell me a story, preferably one that I just can't put down, not even when my arm falls asleep from laying in bed reading my Kindle well past bedtime. The form of a novel is way in which the story is transmitted. In general, all I ask of a novel is that the form not distract me from the story. The perfect marriage of a story's form to its function is rare, beautiful, and [...]

    3. For Kelli Foster, a small-time life isn't something she wants to live for the rest of her life. She's always dreamed of something better and has been doing everything possible to achieve that goal. Her hopes and dreams are the only things she has left to hold on to and she'll do anything to make sure they come true.Abducted in the middle of the night after getting out of work one day, Kelli finds herself in the middle of a nightmare from which she may never escape. She's imprisoned against her w [...]

    4. I was drawn to this book like a moth to the flame. Or a rat to a piece of cheese inside a trap. The premise of Room 3 is very interesting and reminded me of several horror movies I’ve seen. But when I started reading Room 3, I was reminded of only one thing: the game Portal. It felt Kelli was that person trying trick after trick to figure out why she was there and how to get out of the room, but all that she got in return was a bunch of cryptic answers from her captives. The only reason I made [...]

    5. I must say, reading this novel was a very new experience for me. It’s in the form of a diary. You are literally reading Kelli’s words as she wrote them. And it’s from different times. So you see the “before” while she was kidnapped and then “now” as she is running. I must say it was a very unique experience, but a good one. Plus, it’s got a deep plot going on. You can’t help but literally be breathless as to watching what happens to Kelli. Kelli has had a really rough experienc [...]

    6. I received a free copy of this novel for my honest review. Kelli has been kidnapped, drugged and locked up in a room. She has been imprisoned so long that she’s lost track of time. Her roommate dies tragically before her eyes and a piece of her is lost with Gina’s death. This is a fantastic book, it kept me guessing and wondering if Kelli’s experience is real or imagined. Is she crazy? I was hooked on this book because of the puzzle aspect, I love a good puzzle. The book was so well writte [...]

    7. Jonathan pens "Room 3" a horror/thriller in a very original plot that was well thought out. Between the twists, turns and what's going to happen next it kept me at the edge of my seat right to the end. What I didn't expect was the ending, that was a total surprise. Highly recommended to all who love the horror and thrills. This review is based on a complimentary copy which was provided for an honest review.
