    1. A well written series for ages 9-12 that will never be appreciated by that age group. For one thing, the language is more complicated than the popular Wimpy Kid, Dork Diaries and Middle School series. Another thing, there's a lot more depth involved here. And the other thing is, the first couple of chapters start out a little slow, whereas you learn more about the characters that make up "The Baker Street Irregulars". When compared with the more popular series I mentioned, I'm not sure if it can [...]

    2. I loved this book! It was fun to read, and it reminded me of why I love Sherlock Holmes! I'm not sure the portrayal of Holmes was completely accurate (he was super dismissive of Pilar, which I don't think canon Holmes would be) and I didn't like the portrayal of Watson at all. But it was a fun story with cool characters!

    3. Fun! Mack and Citrin take the few references to the urchins who occasionally help Holmes in his cases, and have created living, breathing boys with compelling back stories.Ozzie's mother recently died and she secured an apprentice position for him that she hopes will be advantageous. Unfortunately, his master is a forger, and Ozzie's talents have made him invaluable. Wiggins, even tho he is the leader, is so lonelyhe has memories only of the orphanage he escaped. His pet ferret, Shirley, helps s [...]

    4. I am a huge Sherlock Holmes fan and have read all of the short stories and novels by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, so I know a thing or two about Holmes and his version of Victorian England. The Fall of the Amazing Zalindas does a good job of evoking Sir Arthur's style and of staying true to his vision of that time and place. The Macks make Holmes and Watson ring true, but they are not the stars of this story. For the first time, the Baker Street Irregulars, who appear in many Holmes mysteries and who [...]

    5. This is a children's book and I guess my inner child has already grown up too much for me to enjoy it. As a kid, I might've gobbled it up with a spoon. But now? Two things really bothered me: a) didn't like any of the Irregulars and b) Watson was portrayed as an unlikable fool which is a pet peeve of mine.Regarding a: The only kid that was fleshed out was Ozzie. But he talked like a scholar and was more knowledgeable than Watson and in some instances even Holmes. A kid of 12 years? He was basica [...]

    6. The Fall of the Amazing Zalindas was a good book. I liked the way the case ended up solved. It was a little bit brutal, but it explained all the missing characters. I liked that the "villain" guy didn't show up right away and no one suspected him until the end. Everyone assumed it was a jealous circus performer. I liked that Mr. Holmes had help from some untrained professionals and that the boys were good at what they did even though they weren't from a good family. I especially liked that they [...]

    7. I enjoyed reading this, ifn only to see another perspective to the Sherlock Holmes books. However, I did not like at all John Watson's portrait.I did like the Circus bits and I wish the story was more developed in that point.

    8. Finished this one in one sitting. A well done mystery for kids that adult Holmes buffs will enjoy as well. Was a little sad to see Watson treated so shabbily, but the story, characters, and settings were really well done.

    9. Good Mystery Book~!!But the thing is I don't like the part when Ozzie tell friends that he is working on it,and he know the killer. That's just a luck.I was expecting for something that Sherlock Holmes would figured out!

    10. The title of this book is actually, "Sherlock Holmes and the Baker Street Irregulars"ok 1. It is a Sherlock Holmes mystery, but really is focused around several homeless boys and how they help Holmes solve a crime.

    11. That book was so cool! I can't wait to read the next one. And also, if you read this book, I promise you that you will love is

    12. adoro la idea. pero siento que muchos de los personajes del libro no le hacen justicia a los originales. Obviamente, lo más probable es que me los devore de uno en uno.

    13. I really enjoyed this book. It is Sherlock Holmes but from a new perspective. Too bad the series isn't going to be continued.

    16. This book is absolutely fabulous for mystery readers. It has a lot of suspense, and always has you thinking about whats going to happen next. It's a must read for people who like Nancy Drew, The Boxcar Children and Encyclopedia Brown, and it's a fun book for everyone!

    17. I enjoyed it, and if any are a Holmes fan, so will they. It was a clean read, fast moving, and new characters introduced, which we may see in any up coming books.

    18. In its original title, this book called Sherlock Holmes and the Baker Street Irregulars by Tracy Mack and Michael Citrin. However, I read the Indonesian version, titled Sherlock Holmes dan Laskar Jalanan Baker Street: Misteri Kemarian Bintang Sirkus. The book offers a different perspective of viewing a Sherlock Holmes case. In original stories by SACD, most of the cases were told from Watson’s point of view, in a first-person perspective. This book offers something new (at least new to my knowl [...]

    19. Siapa yang tidak kenal dengan Sherlock Holmes? 20. Those who have read the Holmes stories are, no doubt, familiar with the Baker Street Irregulars, the group of "Street Arabs", as they are called in the Doyle stories, who sometimes provide help to Holmes via spying. No one notices them, you see, so they're free to see and hear many things on the streets. In the stories, though, they're often mentioned in passing, and never really dwelt on. Well, this book seeks to set that record straight but claiming that Watson was jealous of the kids, which is [...]

    21. This Sherlock Holmes series centers around the Baker Street Irregulars, those ragamuffin street urchins engaged by Holmes to be his eyes and ears around the markets, docks, and alleys of Victorian England to garner information and help solve the case.Sherlock Holmes and the Baker Street Irregulars: The Fall of the Amazing Zalindas: Casebook No. 1 by Tracy Mack and Michael Citrin is the first in a series. This adventure not only introduces children to an England of the past and the dangerous life [...]

    22. I think I might be too old for this style of mystery. It's just a straight up, classic mystery with no pizazz. I like my mysteries with something extra thrown in (aka magic, or literally anything interesting).I do applaud the use of the Baker Street Irregulars, but honestly, JUST GIVE ME SOME PIZAZZ.

    23. You know that one mystery book that you think about weeks after reading it? This is that book. Have you ever read that one book with a secret message that has you on the edge of your seat waiting to find out what it is? This is that book. You know those awesome books with witty, adorable orphan boys in Victorian England? This is one of those books. You wanna read it? Lemme tell you about it. Book 1 in an amazing twist to Sherlock Holmes, putting the spotlight on the group of under appreciated boy [...]

    24. My rating: 5 out of 5I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I loved Mack's take on Sherlock Holmes and thought that it was pretty true to the stories (from what I gather of them, at least). It was fascinating to watch the Baker Street Irregulars as they tried to help the detective, attempting to analyze the environment the way he does. The Victorian elements of the story are present but I don't feel that they bog the plot down in any way. There are magnificent black and white illustrations in every cha [...]

    25. This book is a graphic novel and is a marvellous book for key stage 1 children onwards. This book is full of sinister plots and every page of the book is full of excitement and suspense. With Sherlock Holmes missing, the Baker Street Irregulars move into 221B Baker Street, in order to save London from criminal minds. When the Lord Mayors daughter goes missing and Eliza Mayhew grandfather gets kidnapped, the irregulars commence their first case – and quickly ascertain that they are up against a [...]

    26. Sherlock Holmesia pidetään maailman nerokkaimpana salapoliisina, mutta harva tietänee, että monet rikokset olisivat jääneet selvittämättä, ellei hänen apunaan olisi häärinyt kodittomien katupoikien joukko, jota kutsuttiin Baker Streetin iskuryhmäksi. Kirjailija Tracy Mackin ja kuvittaja Michael Citrinin yhteistyön tuloksena syntynyt "Nuorallatanssijoiden tapaus" (Gummerus, 2007) avaa Baker Streetin iskuryhmä -nimisen lasten kirjasarjan. Sarjan ensimmäisessä osassa Ozzie, Wiggins [...]

    28. Whew! For a relatively short book, it took me a long time to get through this one--it was my bedside reading at a time where I was hardly ever reading in bed. The length of time it took to get through, though, was not a reflection on how the book was. I really enjoyed it!The story centers on the Baker Street Irregulars, a band of street boys that help Sherlock Holmes solve his mysteries. Intended for a late-elementary school audience, it delivers in action, fun, and a good mystery (including an [...]
