    1. Here’s a blunt confession: I do judge a book by its cover. As far as I’m concern, if an author or publisher cares as much about the outside look of a book as the inside, then a brilliantly designed cover should say a lot about the content (not in anyway to imply that my post-it inspired cover that I designed myself is as gorgeous as my writing hahahaha).Anyway, as I fell off the wagon of my compulsive-shopping diet last night (and this afternoon for that matter, when I found this breathtakin [...]

    2. Another one for work. This was easy to find things in and didn't have to be read front to back. Could choose which chapters interested you and didn't have to read it all.The Handbook of Style: Expert Fashion and Beauty AdviceFrancine Maroukian and Sarah WoodruffISBN – 1594740534 9781594740534BIB # 1083825This small book packs a lot of information for the stylishly challenged. The authors searched out experts in fashion and beauty asking them such questions as; how to find eyeglasses for your f [...]

    3. As with the Lucky manual, this is more reference than "read," as this book also gives advice on how simple changes can keep you from looking like a frump. Many pros in the beauty and fashion business give advice and how-tos on their expertise, such as how to tie a scarf, create a "smoky eye," pick glasses frames to suit your face, pick underpinnings that work, etc.Very helpful. As long as you keep the book and hand and refer to it when you need it. But as you all know, I don't. So I look like a [...]

    4. Another book I pulled off a friend's bookshelf. It's a collection of articles by famous style experts on various topics. The articles are short, and probably suitable for magazine publication, but were interesting in the depth and breadth of them - how to buy pearls was one, how to pluck eyebrows, or how to buy a hat. Certainly not essential for me, but I found it an interesting enough to read pretty much the whole (slim) volume.(And it convinced me I need a more grown-up bag than a backpack for [...]

    5. Very nicely set up book. Talks about everything from haircuts and moisturizers to bras and hats! Very clear and to the point without the drama. I pretty much ignored the blurbs at the beginning of each section. It's not super detailed if you are looking for that but I think worth the read if you have no idea where to start looking fabulous.

    6. Some interesting advice but the majority of the entries were too brief/too generalised/too specific to particular cases not relevant to me.
