    1. I must say that I liked this book for the first few chapters. Everything was cute. This book was narrated by Lexi Lord and Bryce Evans and their narrations were okay. Lexi has this huge crush on Bryce Evans since high school but was way too shy to tell that to him. Then, these events happen which either of them don't want to talk about and Bryce then moves away to War. (Sorry, I'm not explaining "these events" due to spoilers)Lexi sends him letters under a pseudonym and it makes him feel like a [...]

    2. 2 1/2 StarsSo, I didn't like iten I kind of diden I didn'td now I just don't know. My first impression was that the story felt very juvenile and irritating. I just accepted that these characters had the mentalities of giggly, pre-teen girls and would be about as deep as a kiddie pool. Then, Lexi and Bryce had their moments separate from their friends and I started to have a little hope. I thought that maybe I had been to hasty in my judgment and decided to give it another shot. Here's the basics [...]

    3. This book starts off as a predictable romance, where you assume the hero will solve the mystery of who wrote the letters and they both get their HEA, but it quickly veers off that course. By halfway through the book, I don't even know who to root for. Most of the characters aren't all that likable. Lexi isn't so bad, but she is dull, whiny and doesn't have much personality. And Luke is alright, but if he professes to have been in love with Lexi for forever and was saving himself for the right gi [...]

    4. Sorry, I hate giving bad reviews, but this book annoyed me in so many ways! Firstly, the editing was shoddy. There's no excuse. The bizarre avoidance of abbreviation made it annoying to read, because the characters didn't speak like normal people.Next, the not quite ending that point near the end at which Lexi was starting to come to an important realisation it made the whole book feel pointless! By the time it came to the actual ending, I just didn't care any more. The 'issues' - these kids are [...]

    5. WHAT THE HELL. I'm seriously depressed now. This novel was just so messed up and all over the place and so damn frustrating. The beginning was really promising and the plot seemed fine. But. Then. Things. Got. Messed. Up.*spoilers ahead*So there's Lexi who thinks she loves this 'golden' (or actually not at all golden) guy called Bryce (whom she actually doesn't really know). Aw and how cute: they even have a half sister in common, they don't know her though. GROSS, I know. And then there are Lex [...]

    6. When I started reading this book I noticed some other reader didn't give such a good score. Well I loved it. How in our modern society war can reflect honey people into such hard lives. Knowing that old students you knew in high school having to go off to war. It affect families and friends alike. Even if they do end up returning home. It's enough to drive someone or a loved once a bit loopy. It found this in this story when Bruce Evens comes back to Jonesville himself. I really loved this book!! [...]

    8. *May contain spoilers, depending what you think is a spoiiler ;-) *This by far is my favorite story of Helen's. It has everything friendship, loss, heartache, love. It has it all. It also has a bunch of laughs. Bryce is hilarious!! The FSoG in the library, priceless and one of my favorite parts! He also has some secrets I want to know about!!! Good Lord and then Anna!! I am soo angry at Anna and Bryce! Like seriously!!!! I can't see that going well. And the ending!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Total cliffhanger [...]

    9. 3.5 stars I really liked Bryce then I don't know, wow I'm kinda weirded out right now! I don't know what to make of this hmmm will just have to wait and see how it all plays out!

    10. WHAT. THE. F*CK.Please let our daughters/nieces/sisters/mothers/aunts/any-female-alive never, EVER, read this horribly degrading piece of work. I have been an avid 'stalker' for 6 years and this is the only review I have written. THAT is how strongly I feel about the infuriatingly power-stripping, derogatory, and demeaning message this story sends. Never mind the hideously first-grade dialogue (which I am typically less than critical of in favor of an enveloping story) or the chaotic and ill-ti [...]

    11. 3.5 StarsOh what tangled webs we weave . . . and then there’s a love triangle as well! New to me author J.S. Cooper packs this one to the brim with a story filled with friendships, betrayals, secrets, lust and of course, the power of love. There are no lulls to be found and the plot is gripping. It's a little rough around the edges and sometimes stretches the imagination but still kept me in my chair. We get points of view from both Bryce and Lexi, which revs up the depth for each character in [...]

    12. This is going to be a really short review. Firts things first: I liked this book and really enjoyed it! Basically, it was a quick read. It was interesting and well thought-out but not an incredible amount of depth.I enjoyed reading about Lexi and Bryce and I truely wanted for them to get their HEA. But I kinda have a feeling that there is going to be twist in their relationship (view spoiler)[because of the feelings she start to have for her best friend Luke (hide spoiler)].The story line is int [...]

    13. Ummwell, ahhhhhya. Couldn't do it. These are the most immature young women I've ever had the displeasure of reading a story about. I got 2 chapters in and literally the thought of continuing is too painful. Shushing her friend constantly, feeling like she's going to throw up because he actually LOOKS at her and says HELLO for the first time EVER?I can't do it. I'd put this into the YA category if it weren't for the sex I've seen discussed. Let the kids read this one because I promise you, ladies [...]

    14. Horribly child like characters in an okay story. The characters are what make a story and these just don't make it. They are written as very immature. Makes the story hard to read. I won't be reading the second story because I just don't care how this one ends.

    15. Scarred by J.S.Cooper was a New Adult book that read very similarly to a YA book. The synopsis made me hopeful, but sadly, the delivery disappointed. If I hadn't been told by the story that the characters were in their early twenties, I would have assumed from the vocabulary used, the immature interactions and somewhat whiny nature of the heroine, that they were all around sixteen years of age. With a fairly predictable plot, you would hope for characters who would pull you into the story, causi [...]

    16. I almost liked this book but, unfortunately, it turned out to be nothing like I expected. The book started out fine and I was enjoying how the relationships were set up but then everything when into a frenzy of dramatic overload. The author tried to put way too much into such a short book and the result a plethora of people who were so intent on living in the past and failing to truly move forward that they start extremely shallow, meaningless relationships and call it loveThere's a distinct diff [...]

    17. This is going to be a quick review, one I don't even know if I'll put on my blog. Basically, this was a quick read. Almost like reading a novella. It was sort of a fluffy read. For me, it was a good distraction read. There was good back story to the drama, though there weren't exactly overarching plot lines, ya know? Like, it was interesting and pretty well thought-out, but not an incredible amount of depth. Because this book was quick and sort of fluffy, I wasn't worried about connecting to the [...]

    18. 2 starsGODS. Reading this is soooo painful. Not that kind if painful where you're hurting along with the characters and sobbing while reading it. It's that kind of pain where the beginning has that some sort of potential and then, BOOM, it just circled the drain. I don't want to be mean, but, it's like it was written by some kid in High School where the characters were poorly, erm, developed, the banters the characters have were blah and the plot was ekk. Obviously I ran out of adjectives to des [...]

    19. This contemporary read is the first book in a two book series. Next book is entitled "Healed". Warningyou will have to read the second book because this book will leave you hanging. Luckily the second book was already released or I would have been upset. This book is a love triangle involving Lexi, Bryce and Luke. Lexi has had a crush on Bryce for as long as she can remember and has written letters to him while he was at war. She did not sign her name so he did not know who they were from but th [...]

    20. Normally, I write a brief synopsis but for this review I won't for this one since I was a bit flabbergasted by it BASICALLY: I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy the scandalousness of this book BUT SERIOUSLY IT WAS ALL OVER THE PLACE!!A lot of the time I was thinking "REALLY?!!", "WHAT THE HECK?!", or "Oooh!". I didn't really feel a connection with the characters and half the time I wanted to scream "You all need some help !", "Go see a counselor!" and "why aren't your parents being much of a h [...]

    21. If you know anything at all about me, it is that I can never have enough books. I read the blurb on this one and dived in. Bryce feels responsible for the scars that Lexi has on her soul and the death of his best friend. He turns down a full ride to Notre Dame and enlists in the military. Four years later, his demons still ride him all the way back to Jonesville. Lexi has always know that she was the plain jane of her school but with her best friends, Luke and Anna by her, it didn't matter. She [...]

    22. This book had a lot going for it in the beginning. The storyline was pretty unique and the characters all started out pretty likeable, but that all didn't hold for me though out the whole story. Also, another thing. I am so tired of reading books that don't finish the story. I have to buy the NEXT book to figure out what happens from the second book. Trust me, I know all about cliffhangers and stuff like that, but to just stop the story and now tell me I need to buy the next book to find out wha [...]

    23. I didn't finish. Lexi was saying Luke after everything she said to him got distracting and then everything that happened after the party, I had to stop. Anna is a terrible friend and possibly psycho, Lexi is just as strange, and Luke should have left or at least moved out of his parents house. How are those three oblivious to everything around them. And why are they all living at home! Bryce is a jackhole and an overreacter, Lexi leaves with her best friend and you fall apart. I'm being generous [...]

    24. Don't really like the characters yet I can't help but know what happens in the next book, so I guess I'm gonna read it.Anyways this book was kinda odd. There's so much in the past that we seem to have missed so were really kept in the dark for that.Anna I don't like her, she's just a jealous bad friend.I hate what Anna and Bryce did, and I hate the reasons why they did it. She's stupid jealous bitch and he's stupid gullible ass. We'll see what happens in the next book I guess.

    25. Not really bothered. The plot progression was too fast for my liking, it was fast and now i'm furious. Everything happened very quickly and some things were not justifiable, I guess under different circumstances things change but I still find some of the actions displayed by the characters were absurd. Maybe I will read the next book maybe I won't.

    26. I liked Lexi and Luke. I thought Bryce was a complete jerk and Lexi was stupid for even liking him. Reallye wants to rush into a hook up with a total jerk and then, he continues to be a jerk. It was a no go for me. Luke was a good guy but, Bryce was a waste of space.

    27. Ughhh so badI kept hoping it would get better so I kept reading once I realized it wasn't going to I just had to finish to realize how bad it really was was like when a movie has really bad actorS

    28. What a load of hogwash! A simpering, meandering story of no significance to anyone evidently written by a roomful of chimpanzees. Honestly, that's the only way this author could have penned so many titles without learning how to write! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.

    29. Apart from that cliffhanger ending and the fact that some parts were predictable it was a nice story. Waiting for book #2 now :(
