    1. I received the book for free through First Reads and oh boy is it fun. I really enjoy reference books and The Sci-Fi Movie Guide does not disappoint. Since the advent of the internet, people can easily find websites devoted to lists of everything. I have no doubt that if I wanted to browse sci-fi movies, I could however the experience would not be as fun and flipping through a book.     2. I did not finish this book, but not because I didn't like it. For one, it's not really a book that you "read"; rather, it is something you peruse through in small bursts, quite suitable for a coffee table. And secondly, it was due back and I decided not to jump through the hoops of ILL to retrieve another copy. It's very interesting, and one that I actually quite enjoyed flipping through.     3. I received this book compliments of the author through First Reads. This book lists sci-fi movies and tv shows, old and current, giving brief descriptions of the plot and film style, listing the director, writer, and cast, and giving a line or two of review-style commentary. The descriptions and commentary are brief but give a general sense of whether or not the movie is worth watching.
