    1. A researcher in shame studies traits of perfection and their relationships to better understand the Wholehearted Journey and help others live out a better life. For example, she engages in the meanings and relationships between courage and worthiness because she struggled with these ideas growing up. ¨Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing we will ever do,¨(14). As a result of her research and getting past her struggles, Ms. Brene encourages women to no [...]

    2. Totally loved this book. I could see how she had a breakdown/spiritual awakening. She was trying so hard to do great things then in her research on shame she stumbles across a people that she sees as wholehearted. She realizes she does not have the virtues these people have and has to start again to regain her life. She studies the group of wholehearted people and sees, creativity, spirituality, authenticity, and meaning work all the things she thought were of little value are really what life i [...]

    3. I've read other books by Dr. Brown and have enjoyed them all. This one provides a great synthesis of why this drive toward imperfection is running our daily modern lives -- and the benefits from stepping off of that assumption treadmill. Her framings connect much of the other works I'm reading now.

    4. So amazing! This whole book resonated with me on every level. Happiness, vulnerability, shame resilience she has done her research!
