    1 thought on “Sea Air”

    1. Did. Not. Finish. I desperately wanted to like this book. I’m a tried and true romance reader at heart, and so when I got a copy of Sea Air by Jule Meeringa, I had decent expectations that I was going to like the story, even if the synopsis wasn’t entirely right up my alley. Let’s be honest, I’m not a huge fan of massive age gaps in couples. It’s not that I’m inherently against age gaps… my own parents were nearly 10 years apart in age… but 25 years is an exceedingly large age ga [...]

    2. Im gonna complain a little bit. I did enjoy this book. I just find it hard to review romance books. Like so long as the writing is average to above average then i am just super easy to please when it comes to romance novels. I did read that this book in particular had been translated from another language so im thinking now that is where im having my disconnect. I really liked this book its just meh. I dont know i literally just finished it so maybe i should have waited a few hours before writin [...]

    3. I received this book from for an honest review.I don't know where to begin. I will start by saying I did like this book. It took me a bit to get into it but once there it moved along. This was a tale about Nele who lives in Germany with her seven year old daughter. While on a vacation by herself she meets Mathis. He turns out to be a sometimes mysterious man who has a tendency to come and go as he pleases. Not to be put off by this Nele falls in love with him.Upon returning from her vacation al [...]

    4. Most of this story is set in Germany and concerns the choices being made by Nele, a single Mum of a seven year old daughter, and the the men in her life. Should she choose here ex, a reliable Doctor, or the stranger she meets and falls for on holiday who is twenty five years older than her?She is filled with doubts, totally confused and indecisive. I actually felt like shaking her at times! She isn’t the only cheater! Very sorry to write that I really didn’t empathise with her or any of the [...]

    5. Received an ARC from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.Early on in the book, I realized this must be a translation from German to English. This book went left, right and then back again. It was long winded, the characters were more than flawed and the story lines really made no sense at all. The characters were really not all that likable. They were cheaters, had other lives and could not make up their minds as to what would make them happy in life.I finished it but by force.Regards,Soni [...]

    6. I became more interested in Mathis' story "within-the story" regarding his past, than the story itselfminiscent of "The Book Thief" and "Sarah's Key."

    7. Way too slow!!The storyline was nice but very plodding to get to the end. Read the beginning, the middle and the end and you should be good.

    8. I won this book in the giveaway for a honest review so here it is. I enjoyed this book to an extent. I feel that the ending could have been better but all in all it was a pretty decent read.
