    1. The women are survivors and you can't help but show compassion for these characters and their life trials. The story is so very realistic and sad. But nonetheless a page turner. I'm looking forward to read the next installment in this women's contemporary fiction.

    2. Beautifully written. This is a difficult subject about which to read I was fortunate enough to sit next to the author on a plane, or I probably never would have found it. To say it is beautiful really doesn't do it justice. It ends in hope of a better tomorrow.

    3. Haunting and captivating, this novel brings to light the disturbing realities of sexual abuse. Abdulaziz brings her characters to life, making you feel utter contempt for them and complete compassion, all at the same time. I applaud Abdulaziz for putting forth a novel dedicated to giving a voice to those who do not - or can not - speak up, and I eagerly look forward to the sequel.

    4. Too much repetitive inner dialogue. Same thing over and over. Also, did not provide any ending for any of the characters- just abruptly ends. I get what the author was trying to do, but it needs a lot more editing, and at least a little further development with the married couple.
