    1. I read this to my son thousands of times and I never got sick of it. One of my favorites for little ones.

    2. Bright, simplistic, bold illustrations go well with these simple stories of a Big Dog and a Little Dog. Big Dog and Little Dog are friends that have adventures together. Good book for an easy reader or as a picture book, with fun humor.

    3. Despite his Captain Underpants reputation, Pilkey writes sweet and adorable picture books for the littlest set (well, okay Dogzilla and Cat Kong are odd, but in a great way!). The book, while sort of set up like a very, very simple chapter book, is really more of a picture book. This is a perfectly fine PB as PBs go, but because I'm a huge fan of his Dragon books, this didn't quite measure up for me. It didn't have the droll hilarity and weirdness of Dragon, but I think he's also trying to stick [...]

    4. This actually came from controversial kids' author Dav Pilkey, creator of the Captain Underpants series which is still threatened with censorship today, but there is nothing wrong with this wonderful collection of stories of a big dog and a little dog. The big guy is a sheep dog, the little one is a mere dachshund. Yet they are the best of friends and get into and out of trouble faster than Lassie can get that brat Timmy from a well (fans KNOW how that went!). It's a sweet tribute to friendship [...]

    5. 5 short stories compiled into one volume, written by Dav Pilkey of Captain Underpants fame. I brought this home for my six year old since he's a fan of the waistband warrior but not able to read those independently yet, figuring that this story would be more his level but just as hilarious given they share the same authorT SO.Each story was very basic: large text, simplistic sentences, easy storyline. My six year old read through the entire book in about 10 minutes and told me that he'd rather k [...]

    6. We checked this out from our local library months ago (before we moved), but recently my 3 year old requested to read it. I took her to our new local library and they did not have it, so I purchased a used copy online. She LOVES this book. It helps that we have our own Big Dog and Little Dog who very closely resemble the dogs in the stories. Their antics and the illustrations are adorable. Perfect book for age 1-3.

    7. This is an excellent book for a beginning reader! My, now 4 year old, reader loves to count off the chapter numbers on the chapter page, and loves to read along - recognizing some of the words, and echoing the sentence and story structures. She's particularly amused by three chapters: the dogs' mistake, their walk, and their trouble.

    8. Easy to read and illustrations with vibrant colors make this a great collection. Big Dog and Little Dog mistake a skunk for a kitten. They make a big mess out of the sofa and both get a sweater among others adventures.

    9. I loved this book! It has great contrast between the two characters (one of which really reminds me of my own Little Dog!) <3

    10. Collection of all the Big Dog and Little Dog books. I like the idea of using it to introduce the concept of chapters.
