    1. This is a short and sweet Regency tale. Where Patience Cherwell, a woman of almost 30 has spent her youth nursing an ailing mother. Now she is helping younger ladies navigate the London marriage mart. Her current charge is a vibrant girl named Lorna.Lorna seems to have attracted a suitor, Lord Blackwood. Lord Blackwood is older and recently returned to society following the mysterious disappearance of his presumed finance while she was on a trip to Italy. Patience holds a tender for Lord Blackwo [...]

    2. This was a very sweet Regency Romance. Ms. Sheraton is a new author for me, and I find that I will be reading many more of her books. Her story craft is excellent and her character development is wonderful. The story pulled me right in and I couldn't put the book down. I give this book five stars and highly recommend her if you like sweet romances and like the Regency area.

    3. Light reading This novella didn’t endear itself to me. The characters needed to be a little deeper - difficult when you have a word limit. Perhaps this is part of a series and the series has already established who most of the major characters are.

    4. This was a perfect short regency romance. There was just enough details given to keep me interested. It was predictable, but the type of predictable that I wanted. I wanted the ending I was expecting and it made it better when I got it.

    5. Lord Blackwood's Valentine Ball:I loved this story, I recommend everyone to read this book. I look forward to reading more of her books. Kattie.

    6. Regency and Historical Romance novels happen to be some of my favorite genres so I am a little harder when I read authors that write these. With that being said I enjoyed how the author decided to do a prequel because it gave us a little back story to hold on to until the sequel comes out (which is out already). Patience to me is a sweet and funny character, who is always taking care of others but doesn't see herself for the beauty she is. When she literally is handed into Lord Blackwood's path [...]

    7. It was very sweet and romantic, and goes to show that just cause it may appear one way it's not always that way!Patience ~ She was TOO shy for her own good! And she was willing to hand over her own happiness to someone else all cause she thought herself to old and undeserving! But fortunately for her Lorna was more interested in playing matchmaker of 2 people she considered friends!Lord Blackwood ~ Didn't really get a read of him! But it was obvious from the beginning he was head over heels in l [...]

    8. Patience believes she will always be a spinster, a hides her growing love for the handsome Lord Blackwood. Her young friend, Lorna, has other ideas on the matter. Our heroine is a refreshing, unmarried woman of thirty. I was highly amused by her, and found her reasoning logical. Her friends are equally enjoyable, making it a well balanced story. It is clean, if a little predictable. My only disappointment was how short it was.I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys traditional stories [...]

    9. This was a sweet, clean historical romance. I loved the characters. In the beginning of the book we meet Patience and her dear friend Mrs Henrietta Paisley. they are discussing Patience's charge Lorna Hartley and how she believes that Lorna would make a fine wife for Lord Blackwood. Throughout the story we read about how Patience is madly in love with him but won't tell him how she feels! I can't tell you more as it would ruin the story. But Lorna is a great character as is Lord blackwood, Patie [...]

    10. Valentine BallWhat a charming and delightful novella. This is truly a remarkable story. The characters are interesting and quite intelligent. The dialogue and language are very witty and romantic.

    11. Delightful!A nice, romantic novella. I look forward to reading the next in the series as I've grown fond of these characters.

    12. This is a sweet and charming read, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Shame it was not longer. A nicely written short story.
