    1. This book serves as a good anthology of snippets from Richie's autobiography, Wisden articles and previously published pieces. However there is a lot of fillers, for example, the entire chapter on the "the Spirit of the game" seemed out of place.I did learn a few new interesting facts that I'd like to share1) Bradman keeping wicket v NSW 14/1/39.2) Bill Johnston on the 49/50 tour of South Africa was injured in a minor car accident. The Aussies pretended the injury was worse than it actually was, [...]

    2. There is nothing wrong per se with this compilation, which combines Benaud's writing with myriad tributes written after his death. But anyone who has already read Benaud's other books – especially his 1998 autobiography and 2005 thoughts on cricket – will find very little new material to get their teeth into.

    3. His recent demise coupled with the Christmas selling season provides the opportunity to recycle previous writings. Having read his earlier books, there was nothing new apart from the effusive obituaries. It is not value for money.
