    1. Worth the ILL just to read the Preface & Introduction, this is a handy reference that gives a literary and social history of each country and the influence that history has on their modern crime fiction. This is followed by a summary of prominent crime fiction authors and their work. I only got to dig into a little bit of Iceland, but will definitely be coming back to this one again as soon as someone buys it for me off my wishlist or I have long staycation coming up.
