    4. I am always amazed when a novella can impact me as much as a full-length novel. That was definitely the case in More Than a Promise. As I read this story, I connected with these two main characters, especially Mariana, whose point of view the story was told from. This was such a sweet novella. I enjoyed every bit of it, with my favorite scenes being the ones between Reuben and Mariana. It was comforting to see them connecting as friends and growing into a relationship that was more than simple fr [...]

    5. More Than a Promise - it is a Story of Trust on several levels - Newly widowed Marianne must trust the Doctors when they put her on bed rest shortly after finding out she is going to have twins. Her late husband's business associate become a friend and companion and guardian angel. Soon Reuben decides to ask her to marry him - can she trust her head or trust her heart. Can she trust that Reuben is the person for her and her twins. This is a captivating novella with a great story about Trust.

    6. I would have given this 5 stars if there was a decent ending. But I HATE books that just, stop. You can’t build up a crescendo for 8 chapters and then “fix it all” in a page. You need to let the reader enjoy the happy ending. Throw in an epilogue or something. Otherwise the book is very good. Reads well. Amy Lillard is an excellent writer.except for her endings.
