    1. Two great short stories in one double-barreled blast!"Gilded Lily" will tear you up from the inside out. I watched my why go through three pregnancies, this book had me wondering about all of the things that could have gone wrong, but the ending.damn! Vic Kerry will haunt your dreams with this one."The Little Girl" Another story that goes the "what coulda been" route. This one is much shorter, but still packs quite a punch. I won't give anything away. I give this combo of shorts 4.5 stars (round [...]

    2. Two creepy stories around the theme of childbirth. I enjoyed them a lot, but I felt the same as another reviewer regarding the endings. I thought the stories were great, just wanted a little more "oomph" at the end, if that makes any sense. I also agree with another reviewer, whatever you do, don't read these if you're thinking about having children!

    3. I was intrigued by the topics that Kerry touched upon with these two stories; pregnancy and the loss of a child, but I just did not find any of the conclusions to be all that great. There was great character development, and while these are definitely quick reads, I felt enough of the tale was laid down for readers to grasp at was going on; more so in the first tale Gilded Lily, but the endings just left me wanting. I enjoy the author's style, and I admit one must have some extreme talent to put [...]

    4. This installment of DBH was definitely enjoyable. Both stories had an interesting take on birthing and familial attachment. The Little Girl had a dark tone almost reminiscent of the old black and white Twilight Zone episodes (I wouldn’t mind seeing it AS a Twilight Zone episode). Gilded Lily, on the other hand, will make you think of a certain sci fi movie with Sigourney Weaver.
