    1 thought on “Unconscious Knowledge”

    1. As I read through this, my rating swayed between 3 and 5 stars, increasing towards the top end as I went. The story is very good. It reminded me a little bit of Bonny and Clyde. A young couple believe that they are on their way to Hollywood and that life and death are just scenes in a movie. There is a great deal of violence, dark humor, backwoods incest, strange relationships and there are bent cops. Despite all of that, I found myself empathizing with Syd and Marcy, particularly Marcy, as the s [...]

    2. Synopsis/blurb….Growing up poor and within a troubled family, Marcy Harris takes a job at a hospital cafeteria, and the monotony is killing her. Then, on Christmas Day, she meets Syd McComb, a jet-cool punk rocker recently returned from a ten-year stay in Mexico, and Syd looks like all the trouble she’s been dying to get into.Together they are as explosive as dynamite, and once the fuse is lit, they vent their frustrations with style, taking vengeance where it’s due and staying one step ahe [...]

    3. I received a free copy of this book in return for an honest review.Unconscious Knowledge is the story of Syd and Marcy, a wannabe Sid and Nancy mixed with Bonnie and Clyde couple that believe some people deserve to die and they aren't afraid to kill in order to reach their dreams. As their story goes along there are chapters about their history, about other people they encounter, the town's history, and the search for them by an ex-cop. I enjoyed the book, it kept me interested. I felt the writi [...]

    4. This is an exceptionally good story which has all the elements necessary to become a cult classic. I really enjoyed it. The characters elicit emotion – positive and negative. Blaine, the Sherlock Holmes type detective, becomes your hero until…well you decide. The ending is quite unpredictable.Give it a read and you won’t be disappointed.

    5. This is a Win review. This book is a little edgy in tone about two people taking vengeance and staying ahead of the cop who is chasing them. I agree the ending is a surprise.

    6. Loved these characters. Binge read this novel because I had to know what happens next? Revenge can be painful & sweet.

    7. At the request of the author, I read a previous version of this book, before it was picked up by a publisher. This is what I said. This is a hard book to sum up, but please cue the Nine Inch Nails and then fade into the banjoes. This book is Natural Born Killers, meets Deliverance, with a slap dash of Holmes and Watson thrown in for good measure. It's dark, gristly, violent and sometimes painfully uncomfortable to read. If it weren't for the humour used to break up the disquietude I don't know if [...]

    8. Loved this book, but hated the epilogue. It made me so sad :-( In the beginning I was a bit confused by the switching of perspectives and time zones, before it all started to fit together like a jigsaw puzzle, which I ended up loving! Multiple perspectives are something I always enjoy in books, especially when there are a cast of interesting characters. I really enjoyed Sydney's character and though Marcy annoyed me for the most part I could still understand where she was coming from and how ci [...]

    9. I will first start my review by thanking Beaird Glover for sending me a copy of this lovely book to review. I would certainly say this is a hidden gem, so thank you again! The book follows Marcy Harris who has taken a job at the Hospital cafeteria. Marcy comes from a poor background and is looking for a way to get out of this boring life. Then, on Christmas day, she meets Syd McComb. A punk rocker who has just returned from Mexico and is definitely the trouble she has been looking to get into. Th [...]

    10. I review Unconscious Knowledge for The Bandwagon blog: dracarya.wordpress/2016/0 Unconscious Knowledge is a wild, roller-coaster ride of punk rock and toxic relationships. Enter Syd and Marcy -the former an exotic, alluring bad boy, the latter stuck in the endless grind of every day life – and watch their relationship explode into murder.Glover doesn’t shy away from the macabre. Death is central to the story, as is suffering, and darkness. The main characters aren’t particularly likable, b [...]

    11. This is a thriller revolving around the lives of Marcy and Syd, teenagers with a troubled childhood. They feel that anyone who is bad should die and they go on a killing spree escaping from Sherif Litton shaw and detective Blaine. A child who grows up watching domestic violence and abuse, deprived of love will be thinking differently than a normal child with loving parents and basic needs taken care of. When someone is too much oppressed, he / she will rebel. The story is all about this. I am ta [...]

    12. At first I thought we had a Bonny and Clyde story, but it changed. It still has some thoughts in that direction but it does not end like that. The end of this book is totally unexpected and enjoyed, but with questions lingering in the mind. Received the book through the Giveaway and I am happy that I did receive the book so I could read it.J. Robert Ewbank author "John Wesley, Natural Man, and the Isms" "Wesley's Wars" "To Whom It May Concern" and "Tell Me About the United Methodist Church"

    13. “Unconscious Knowledge” is a goth Bonnie and Clyde tale in contemporary times; an eclectic mix of lives broken apart then spun back together into a bloody climax.Read full review in the 2016 July/August issue of InD'tale Magazine.

    14. This was a win. I found it to be a good read. The characters were interesting. The book can hold your attention to see what would happen to them next. I would recommend it.
