    1. I was looking for a quick and dirty easy read to give someone on this subject and this is a good summary and simple rebuttel or response to 10 of the typical attacks on evolution from the benighted folk who do not understand science and have accepted some of the mischaracterizationsar of evolution which makes in repugnant to them. The top ten myths the authors includes: Evolution is "just a theory". The book addresses the misunderstanding of what a scientific theory IS and that it is meant to be [...]

    2. This is a pretty good book for non-scientists. It explains the concepts of evolution in clear, non-jargon-filled language and the science is sound. There are, however, logical problems in places, hence the low star count. I'll probably add those to my review later. "You know that the more closely related two individuals are, the more they have in common genetically, just as we're genetically more like our first cousins than our second cousins." pg. 27"The only difference is that macroevolution i [...]

    3. Being more of a creative mind than a scientific one, I was afraid this book would be very dry and hard to follow. I was pleasantly surprised. It was organized very simply: State the myth and then proceed to refute it in simple terms that anyone can understand. It delved into enough detail to be credible but it was just that, an overview of the 10 most common myths about evolution. Most of what I read was expected, especially the parts in which the author breaks down and analyzes Creationist and [...]

    4. I was kind of saddened at how short and simple this book is. I think I paid too much for it; that resentment manifests itself into my giving it four stars instead of the five it probably deserves. It's ideal for fifth graders and Creationists, I suppose. I just don't fit into either demographic.

    5. Intresting summary about Evolution and all the counterargument to it. Underlying the text there is, I think, a bit of presumption and some "liberal" political assumption, in the same way as the ID "thinkers" talk about god without actually talking about god but implying it. Also, as a transhumanist philosopher, I could not accept the fixed and slow way of natural selection as the only guidance of the evolution; instead, I think that we have to rediscover some of the Lamarck thesis about the prog [...]

    6. If you are looking for a scientific book, then this book is probably not for you. And if you want to learn new things about evolution, you'll find too little here. This book is a collection of debates and arguments - mostly philosophical - against creationism and in favour of evolution. Nothing wrong with that, but if you already know that evolution is true and are looking for further information, you are not going to find much here. The most you can find is suitable for very uninformed individu [...]

    7. A very nice, short and sweet overview of a few of the misconceptions that abound in our scientifically illiterate world. If you already know the basics of evolution, you are not going to come across any new earth-shattering ideas here. I nevertheless enjoyed it for some historical points that were new to me, as well as some of the examples drawn from the world of nature. Highly recommended for people that don't know much about evolution, but are concerned about the anti-science trend in the U.S. [...]

    8. This book is for anyone with an opinion about evolution and Creationism (or its new title: Intelligent Design). As the title of the book suggests, Creationists have gained a lot of ground by lying about the basic tenants of evolution. For example, no credible evolutionist has ever said that we "come from monkeys," or that there was such a thing as "The missing link," or that evolution is "just a theory."

    9. If you're interested in evolution but not enough to jump in up to your eyeballs with one of Dawkins's books, this one's for you. Written more for the layperson, this reads like an extended magazine article, complete with illustrations at each chapter head. I'm not sure I learned anything earth-shattering, but it held my interest.

    10. Very GoodSuccinct but enigmatic and informative, highly recommended even for aficionados of biological evolution and the logical order it entails. Excellent.

    11. It accomplishes what it promises, names some of the misunderstandings about evolution and clearly explains why they are wrong. An easy and enjoyable introduction to the subject.

    12. I bet it's really interesting if you can stay with it, but I just couldn't get into this book. I guess with the funny cover I thought it wouldn't be such a dry read but it was!
