    1. The Horror Writer: Jerry Jay Carroll Sometimes you can be in the wrong place at the right time. But, not in this case where Thom Hearn author of horror novels meets hedge fund manager, Carrie Alexander on a flight that takes them deep inside a jungle, hoping not to crash, a pilot whose overweight and dies and a landing that no one will ever forget. Almost killed on this plane, thinking he was invited to a conference for big names in banking, science and business, little does Hearn know that it w [...]

    2. Full of nothing but satire and accurate demonstrations of what I believe goes through every horror writer’s head, The Horror Writer is equal parts hilarious and creepy. After crash landing in the jungle, author Thom Hearn and his companion, Carrie Alexander, finally made it to their paradise retreat. Only, they came to find out that Thom wasn’t supposed to be there. It was a mistake. Except, those at Echchols don’t make mistakes. Ever. What was really going on was far more sinister and sur [...]

    3. A horror writer gets mistakenly invited to a top-level conference in a jungle country but even the flight in is suspect. The resort destination's beauty is only skin-deepd things really get interesting when this horror writer's characters start coming to life. Good thing he also wrote a teen series with a teen hero. Definitely recommend. This is one of those books you don't want to end because it is so good. I'm glad I won this book signed by the author.

    4. Excellent character development, well thought out. The reader is involved from the first page. I felt that I was there, in the mix, out of breath with the excitement of the chase. Just when you think that you've got it figured out, you're catapulted into another fast paced adventure. The tribute to the slash-and-gore genre is there in the lurid cover of "The Horror Writer" and the plot unfolds not unexpectedly on a remote tropical island. But the narrative is Mr. Carroll at his most intriguing.
