    1. This isn't what I expected at all- I still love Eminem to this day so I thought I'd like to read pretty much anything about him. This is basically a glorified CD cover. It's the words to most, if not all, (I haven't finished yet) of his songs and with each one comes a paragrah or two (if your lucky) about when he wrote it, where he was at the time, and maybe, just maybe, a tiny bit about what was going on in his mind at the time. Needless to say, that's all fairly interesting but I can only read [...]

    2. I never like autobiographies because I don't like when people use to appreciate to anyone else by giving their example that's why I don't read autobiographies. But this one is the only autobiography I have ever read perhaps I like it because this is only about great critics and verse controversies which Eminem has come up through.

    3. I'm not sure what I expected from this but it was great to learn about where ideas for songs came from and how people reacted to them

    4. I bought this book to review before giving it to my nephew as he is a fan of Eminem and yes I am as well, but more so from his album Relapse on up. Not saying I don't like some of his older music but I prefer from then on up. He came from nothing and made his love of rhyming into something that a lot of people love. Yeah he raps about hating women, killing and so forth but those are mostly his lyrics he has wrote. Is there truth to them? I am sure there is some truth to them but for the most par [...]

    5. For the fan this is basically a lyric book consisting of a couple dozen early songs and some freestyles thrown in, with commentary from Eminem about many of the songs beginnings and pictures. I appreciated this book because it was good for my older eyes to read some of the words that I couldn't quite get on some of the songs. Some of us fans have been fans since the beginning and our eyesight isn't the best at reading old CD notes. I'm not a diehard " I know every song " type of fan - but I do l [...]

    6. Fun fact: I used to hate Eminem. That is, until I heard the last verse of Stan. Then I realized that often he wasn't serious and that, like others, he just meant for a song to be a song and nothing else. Slim's in his early forties, and we now have plenty examples of his human side: Mockingbird, Not Afraid, Headlights, Talkin' to Myself, etc. In other words? He's not joking anymore. At least, not all the time. But the beauty of this book is that it contains his earliest and most controversial ly [...]

    7. "Angry Blonde" by Eminem and Jonathan Shecter is inferior to Eminem's newest book entitled "The Way I Am." It's basically a lyric book for just about every song that he has done, minus a few on the "Infinate" record. This came out in 2002 when he only had two hit records, "The Slim Shady LP" and "The Marshall Mathers LP." I liked it because it shows Eminem's thoughts and feelings when he was writing these songs and then it gives all of the lyrics to all of his older songs and freestyles. It was [...]

    8. the beginning of his life starts in the Detroit 8 mile. were he was born he later on move back and forth 20 times until they settle down on the west side of Detroit 8 mile. this has been a good book so far he tells about his life and how he became a rapper. he never thought he was going to be so big once he started rapping. it all started when he was seven him and his uncle Ronnie gave him a rap CD to listen to listen to. he instantly loved it. him and Ronnie wanted. to become rappers but there [...]

    9. tam on bir yıl önce şu kitabı okuduğum geldi şimdi aklıma. ben uyurken annem de kitabı karıştırmış ve on üç yaşındaki kızım böyle kitaplar okuyarak kötü yola düşecek galiba demiş (bundan önce de kristaine f'in korkunç anıları: eroin kitabını okuduğum için kadın ciddi ciddi dertlenmişti). ah ortaokul yılları, hiç özlemiyorum.

    10. One of the most raw, gripping lyric books I've ever read. I actually own this book in hardbound edition. Marshall Mathers is a lyrical genius.

    11. Mostly lyrics. It was interesting do to the fact that, Eminem explained where he was in life while writing the songs/raps.

    12. People thought that Eminem had a cool life but he didn't this is story of how Eminem grew up.His story is a really interesting story to read.

    13. I wish there was more content and less CD booklet lyrics. All the stories about each song's origin blended together after a while.
