In an old, gloomy manchine, has lived a generation of an unhappy family. This Manchine in a very small New England town, gets a special visit from the youngest member of the family. Phoebe helps lift up this unhappy Manchine, with her loving ways, into happiness. This was a pretty good book and I hope you read it!!!
Not the real book, but an illustrated/graphic version of the story intended for children. Pretty well done.
Interesting art, but the adaptation is marred by the book's stated function as a learning device for young readers.
