    1. I have to admit to being surprised by how much I loved this book. As a former teacher and current fan of children's books I knew I would enjoy it, but I didn't expect to be so fully pulled into the narrative!St. Brigid is an inspiring figure, and Jane G. Meyer makes that clear in her gentle and matter of fact telling. Ms. Meyer does not lean into the hardships and sufferings the saint endured, so the book is perfect for young minds.     2. Well told and beautifully illustrated I enjoy reading about the Irish saints, and found this picture book especially well done. The emphasis is on Brigid's Christianity, and this telling skirts some of the more fantastical legends that surround her. The font has the look of a handwritten uncial alphabet, which seems appropriate, and goes beautifully with the Celtic-inspired illustration.
