    1. I miss this little book! I need to get a new copy sometime, I lost the one I originally had. The Moss children were really chilling, and Koenig's vivid detail and descriptions were amazing! Definitely a worthwhile but hard-to-find book.

    2. I read this book as a teenager and the overall creepiness of it stuck with me all these years (I'm 49 now). I couldn't remember the name and after searching and searching on various websites, it finally randomly came to me and I purchased the book. It didn't disappoint! It's odd, gross, suspenseful, uncomfortable, and not great literature, yet it's compelling and you feel transformed into the story. I will read this again and I'm so happy that I found it!

    3. This little book is about five young children whose rich parents leave them with their nanny while the take a vacation. Something happens to their caretaker, and it is partially their fault. Her creepy boyfriend wastes no time coming over to their house, terrorizing the kids. It is up to the children to handle him. They band together and manage things that seem impossible.

    4. This book should be called 'The Children Are Assholes'. Not a bad story, but the spoiled rich kids are very annoying. There isn't one likable character in the book. There is also racism towards mexicans, including the maid/nanny who they refer to as Avocados. I was expecting a lot more from this. It wasn't terrible, but not a must read either.

    5. It was a very disturbing read, as much of Laird Koenig's books. I had read "The little girl who lives down the lane" when I was a child and was seriously shocked by it. (I liked it though). Years later, I remembered his name and searched for other books and found this one. Shock. Horror. A terrible story for sure and those horrible children ! I liked it a lot. 6.
