    1. Златна, но определено тежка за четене книга. Макар че авторът пише съвсем разбираемо и никъде не усложнява излишно изказа или съдържанието половината време се чувствах нещо средно между глупак и невежа :)

    2. Murphy is very perceptive. I think she adequately explains how modernism has affected Christian theology, resulting in a bifurcation between conservative and liberal theologies. I'm not quite convinced though that foundationalism is fatally flawed. Her holistic approaches to epistemology, language, and metaphysics offer keen insights, but I'm not sure that coherentism, cultural-linguistic regulative theory, and nonreductive physicalism are the best paths to take.In Part One of the book 'Dialogic [...]

    3. According to Nancy Murphy, the great chasm separating modern Conservative and Liberal approaches to Christianity is rooted in the foundationalist epistemologies which emerged with Descartes and the Enlightenment. Foundationalism, the idea that truth claims are knowable only insofar as they are built upon universally accessible, indubitable claims, has dominated philosophical, scientific, and theological thinking for centuries, but Murphy argues that we now have the tools to lay aside the image o [...]

    4. To Liberals, I probably look Conservative. To Fundamentalists, I probably look Liberal. What in the world is going on?In this book, Nancey Murphy reveals the assumptions hidden underneath both these perspectives. In-keeping with her subtitle, Murphy uncovers how modern and postmodern philosophy set the theological agenda. After criticizing both Liberals and Fundamentalists as being two different aspects of modern thought, she spends the second half of the book arguing for an integrative way forw [...]

    5. Nancey Murphy argues that the split between Conservative and Liberal Christians is best understood in terms of a foundationalist approach to theology. Both seek indubitable foundations, one is rooted in inerrant reading of Scripture as the foundation which cannot be called into question, while the liberal tradition is rooted in unmediated and universal experience.

    6. This is not an easy read, but it surely offers great food for thought. Murphy maintains the liberal-fundamentalist divide in Christian theology is the result of modern philosophical categories. She holds out the possibility that newly emerging ways of thinking in the philosophical realm may break down that division.

    7. Ground clearing. A breath of fresh air. Hopefully this is a mere prologue to much richer works that will pick up from here.
